What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

  • Ummm.... yea from 365 Days of Stitches

So last post October..... not good. I won't even try to say I touched fabric every day. I won't hang my head in shame, I will just keep going. Isn't that how life is, if you make a mistake you keep going? I tell my children failures are expected.... it's what you do with them that counts!
  • Wellll..... guess I failed my own challenge. from 365 Days of Stitches

I see it's been over a month since I have posted, but not truly over a month I've been away from stitches. September wasn't a great month for our family. A young member of my family struggled with some life issues which set things up for true chaos. I did manage to put together and quilt the pink quilt, made an emboidery (Hoop Sisters) pillow, and made a few more snowman blocks. Life certainly gets in the way of my hobby. I'm not nursing the flu... day 5 now, so crossing my fingers I'm on ...
  • Finally from 365 Days of Stitches

Finally designed a quilt I'm happy with.... thanks to EQ5. I actually think it's possible to finish the Pink Quilt if I bury myself in the sewing room. :o)
  • Current stitches from 365 Days of Stitches

I haven't posted daily, but I have gotten a few stiches in. Seems the snowman is my friend after a long hard day at work. I've decided to finish up a quilt I started for a Relay for Life Raffle but now it will/may become a Foundation Raffle. In my outpatient oncology department we provide free medication assistance, home needs as well as hospice care out of a fund/foundation. We have a Breast Cancer Walk Run next weekend and fancy that, my relay quilt is in pinks..... ah ha, an idea hit me this morning to ...
  • Where did we begin..... from 365 Days of Stitches

I ran into this from Daisy Quilts and oh what a fun idea. I love my story because it takes me back to a much simpler time. I had always been a crafter in some way or another. When my daughter was 6, 16 long years ago, I was making stuffed animals for her and her brother, then 2. In the fluff package was a pattern for a quilt. I thought, okay, why not. So I bought fabric, made little card board templates (that I didn't know were called templates) no ruler, just regular old paper scissors, pencil markings ...
  • Monday on Tuesday from 365 Days of Stitches

Today was Monday and Tuesday all rolled into one. That's not a good thing. I'm very glad I started this 365 days of stitches goal because I think that is all that will get my mind off work today. Can I say I don't like being middle management! It's oh so fun when the upper managers throw you under the bus. Today I was a roasted without the comedy. I'll just curl up, stitch away and let it all melt away into the fabric.
  • Happy Labor Day! from 365 Days of Stitches

Which for me means a paid holiday off work!!! We picnic'd yesterday with some close friends, after the debate, "are we going or not?". I was eating Tums like candy and just didn't have the desire to go anywhere. We went, had a nice time and I'm glad I didn't pass up the chance to spend the beautiful day outside with good friends. I managed to get in a few stitches, the arm & glove of Mr. Snowman, so I'm still on my 365 day track. Today I've got to go shopping for lab coats ...
  • What are "Schnibbles"? from 365 Days of Stitches

If someone stumbles on here and can answer that question, it would be greatly appreciated. I lost my local quilt shop a few years back, mostly do my own designs so I guess I'm out of the loop. I stumbled on a blog that talked about "A year of Schnibbles". So during the Sunday morning coffee I did some surfing. Is "Schnibbles" a pattern company that designs around use of scraps??? Like I need another project..... but almost can't stay away from the challenge.....or maybe the chance to shop would be more like it!! :o)
  • September 5's stitches from 365 Days of Stitches

I didn't get to starting my CGQC project today so I did some work on the "Winter Wonderland" quilt I purchased last fall at a local quilt show. Between laundry, dinner with my Mom, Ken, my brother and his wife and our family and movie night with my daughter I didn't spend any time at the cutting table. These friendly snowmen will help keep me honest. If I recall right, there are 12-14 blocks and in one year, I've done 3. Ugh! I chatted with a patient who also was a quilter last year and told her ...
  • Starting now......... from 365 Days of Stitches

So here is my first project. I bought this pattern in Mesa, Arizona at the Quilter Oasis this past winter on my trip to visit Mom and Ken. I purchased 3 FQ's to add for each season for an additional memory of my trip.

This is be my first club entry in the Charming Girls Quilt Club
  • How it all started from 365 Days of Stitches

So, why would I stress myself out with a goal to stitch something everyday for one year? I ran across a charming site called "Charming Chatter Charming Girls' Quilt Club! and it inspired me to return to my love of quilting. I'll be posting my monthly project for the club along with a link to the site to help me achieve my goal.

My Rules: "Stitch" can include hand work, machine work, cutting for stitching something every day without fail. I'll be honest, try to post daily and hopefully be amaze myself.
