What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

  • Date Night from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

A few Thursday's ago for some reason I wanted a STEAK.
So I called our local butcher shop (I have known the owner since I was itty bitty and was friends with his son in high school) and ordered two 1 inch ribeye steaks. Yes, this was a little bit more than I wanted to spend but way cheaper than us going out to eat. They gave us free baked potatoes and the piggy in me picked the biggest ones. Then after I left Burt's Butcher Shop I went by Publix and picked up some asparagus, mushrooms and ...

    Sweet sibling love.

  • Power Outage from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

Last Sunday our power was out for over 2 hours. Read what I typed up about that power outage...

    "What was I to do?
    - I had slept pretty much all day (It was around 5:30pm)
    - I finally was awake with some energy and wanted to cook a few things for the week (bread, biscuits and hamburger buns)
    - The power was out and it was raining cats and dogs

I watched a squirrel and blue bird sit so perfectly on the clothes line and bird house in the rain...

Watched as a goldfinch flew from this bird feeder.

    Do you ...

  • from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

"Deprive your body of water, and your body will tell you. Deprive your soul of spiritual water, and your soul will tell you. Dehydrated hearts send desperate messages. Snarling tempers. Waves of worry. Growling mastodons of guilt and fear. You think God wants you to live with these? Hopelessness. Sleeplessness. Loneliness. Resentment. Irritability. Insecurity. These are the warning signs. Symptoms of a dryness deep within.
Treat your soul as you treat your thirst. Take a gulp. Imbibe moisture. Flood your heart with a good swallow of water. Where do you find water for the soul? "If any man thirst, let ...
  • What could it be?? from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

This is the plant as a whole, I can't describe the smell of the leaves and have no idea what herb it is.
Here is a close up of the leaves and flowers...

    and the plant again.

Do you have any ideas? I want don't want this beauty to go to waste, I want to use it for something in the kitchen but I have no idea what it is.
Thank you in advance for helping me figure it out.

  • My desk on my very last day was... from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

    Covered in coupons!
It was a sad and short (I only worked 3 hours) day. But coming in 2 days in a row, knowing a select few took time out of their day when they are way behind to make my last days special really meant so much to me.

So much that as I am writing this, thinking about the words to type I am tearing up.

I was placed with this company at a time that I was not very close to God like I am now and looking back at all the things that he put in ...
  • My Desk in the Bathroom from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

Tomorrow is my last day at Blue Cross Blue Shield and one of our trainers decided to take everything out of my office and move it all to the bathroom.
Here are some pictures of my new office...
They even put the recycle bin in their because they know I love to recycle.

For the pranksters that are reading this...it is a very good idea.

Thank you Alicia, this is a memory I will never forget.

  • The Veg-Table's from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

Shannon did a post about her plantings of onions and garlic and I figured I would do the same. I talked about it in this post titled 'Yesterday's Piddlings and This Weekends Fun' and this post also. This is what I harvested Wednesday, Holy Cow was my thought when I had to put them down because my arms could not hold anymore.
    These are my banana peppers

and some okra that I planted just for my sister. I sure hope it ships well!

These are one of my bell pepper plants. They were so cute when they were the ...
  • The Veg-Table Garden from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

This man really has my heart or I really have his when I bring in a cucumber from the garden and suggest that we have it for dinner and then when I come back in for dinner he shows me a plate of sliced cucumbers in the shape of a heart, I know he is a sweet one.

In this 4'x8' bed I have pickling cucumbers, green beans, summer squash, bell peppers, radishes, parsley, lettuce (that is still hanging on even though it is in the 90's), basil, mint and some flowers to add another color besides green ...
  • Bible vs Cell Phone from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
    This ...
  • Mr. Rooster is GONE from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

Mr. Rooster all ready to go. (yes the container is a bit small for him, but the person who gets him, takes it with them and this was all we had to spare)
My dads roosters and ours ready for the ride to the auction.
    Another view of them.

About three weeks ago Keith went in the chicken coop you know to fill their water up, feed them and gather the eggs and once again Mr. Rooster attacked.
Not only did he try to be the boss but he jumped up on Keith's chest and put his spurs on ...
  • Mother's Day 2010 from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

My Aunt Margaret and I kicking our legs up to the sun.
This year my mother-in-law was out of town so the following Tuesday we had dinner with them and enjoyed spending time with just the two of them.

For my mom, we went to Callaway Gardens our getaway that is only 15 minutes from our house. This place is beautiful, here is a view of 1/4 of Mr. Cason's Garden. Some lily pads with a bloom.

  • My Veg-Table Garden Today from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

This year I am doing the square foot gardening method. I purchased the book months ago and have spent countless nights laying in bed reading up on why this method works.Check Spelling One evening while I was planting lettuce, radish and celery seeds my father-in-law asked "When are you going to plant a real garden?"

My friends, supporters and blog followers I am here to say this is the most real garden that has been planted by his children if you are looking at the variety and number of different vegetables.

But I am sure he was talking about the method ...

  • Yard Work from Angie's Chit Chatting Corner

Who doesn't love this fountain? I am going to rewind just a little...
In 2008 we added this flower bed and at the time it was great and was such a needed thing.

Now that we have less time together due to work, work, church, bible studies and dates with friends Keith and I need our time to be OUR time. Since I love being outdoors we needed a little bit more privacy so we are expanding the above flowerbed to the below outlined flower bed.

This new flower bed will be big enough to put some plants that ...
