In our photo album you will see pictures of all the quilts that everyone made for the teenage mom's organization. We only needed 10 but we had 11 in the end so they got some extra's. We added these quilts into laundry baskets full of baby items donated by MOPS. The baskets really turned out great and I am sure the mom's will just love them! Link to photo album is above. Thanks to all the ladies that created these quilts. Most of them it was their first quilt they made from beginning to end.

Not alot of people showed up today only three but that is ok it is a busy time of the year and I know some people are working on their quilts at home. So we worked on our baby quilts there which having the room was nice for this part of the project. Next month these will all be complete and ready to add to the baskets!

Ok ladies another month is ending can you believe it??? Time is just flying this year! Everyone should be working on the baby quilts and either have them done or almost done. Yes we are meeting on Halloween same place and same time! Bring your machines if you want to work on your baby quilting! Ok yes I am a little late on this and we are about to have our October meeting. I am playing catch up sooo.... last meeting it was pretty much a come and go as you please and work on your baby quilt while you are there if you would like. We had a great time sharing the reflections and what we were thankful for last month. How God has worked in our lives and some prayer requests. We had a couple of new members so we actually had to move rooms in the church so we have more space! It was so much better to have all the room! Our quilts are getting close to completion. Are Signature (Membership) Blocks are growing! We will be done with the quilts by our November meeting!! Some of us are planning on donating them to our adopted organization "Youth for Christ." There is a poll in the message board in regards to our next project. This poll ends 12/1/09 which will give me enough time to prepare for our January meeting. Please vote on what you would like to do for the next project so I can get a feel for what you want to learn and do. If the answer is not listed please just reply to the poll and post an idea. Is everyone alive?? Did we all make it through the horrid hot weather??? How is everyone on their mystery quilt? If you take pictures please email them to me and I can post them and show them off! Pictures can really help to inspire others! Like me! :) We have been so busy and having a yard is new to us so new I have three blisters on my hands. I will be a better leader next month though but was kind of fun not being ahead of everyone hmmmm! We are almost done with this quilt probably a good two ...

We had a wonderful meeting except I forgot my camera....so no pics :( I will make up for it at the next meeting. We have six signature blocks done so far and two more in the making! So I will take pics of those new ones next time. We proceeded on with our mystery quilt and they are coming together but quite alot of learning going on. So we have a meeting this weekend (July 25th) and well I am not ready at all! Moving has really gotten me behind. I have already sent out an email expressing my apologies in advance to everyone but what is so great about quilters is that they don't care if I am ready as long as they can quilt something!!! If you look at our pictures you will see one of the members is pregnant. Well....not anymore!!! She has a little girl 7lbs 6 oz born on 7/16/09!!! She was a trooper taking all the pain herself! Can't wait to meet this little precious gift from God and teach her to quilt!!! Congrats Angela!!!

Almost all the ladies got to finish their first two clues of this mystery quilt project (pictures above). We shared some reflections from the past month of what we are thankful for and read a devotional that really focused on pointing out the positives in a quilting creation and life in general, rather then the negatives. The new message board is at the top. I did create it where you have to sign up so that our information is private and can not be accessed unless I approve their membership. This meeting the ladies learned how to make the fancy hot dog pillowcases. It took us exactly and hour to complete this project from start to finish. Each lady donated their pillow case they made to be given to either if someone is in the hospital or a shelter. We will keep things we make in a bin and as needs arise we will have stuff ready! I made a cute little instruction board on how to make pillowcases for our next quilting meeting for the church on June 6th! I got this idea from the Kingston Quilt Shop. A lady did it and it was the perfect thing to be able to show the steps on how to make a pillow case. So I made one and I am so proud of it! I forget how to make pillowcases all the time so this board will even help me! Thanks Kingston Quilt Shop!
