Pebble Quilt Finished (Wedding Quilt #4) from Wedding Dress Blue

It just feels like pebbles.  Well, really big pebbles.  And I have never seen blue and green pebbles…Anyway, I call it Pebbles because that is its name.

And it is finished. Mainly because it was rainy here this morning and I was able to justify a binding blitz!

I LOVE the back.  It was such a lucky find.

And the quilting went well.  Just a pantograph called Zest.

It will be sent to the bride and groom soon.

No special pattern here, just 4-/2″ squares and a four patch of 2-1/2″ squares.  But I love the look ...

Ribbon Star Wedding Quilt from {The Sweetest Dreams}

Last weekend I was able to give my niece her wedding quilt. Her shower was supposed to be in April but it was cancelled due to the COVID situation. Their wedding is scheduled for July 25th but they’re unsure if it will even happen. It’s so sad that so many gatherings and accomplishments can’t be celebrated properly.

Congratulations to Joelle & Bradley.

Wedding Quilt #3 For 2020 from Wedding Dress Blue

This is the third wedding quilt I have completed for 2020.  What makes this the year of weddings?

DSC01892

It isn’t fancy, but I hope the new family will enjoy cuddling on the couch.  When I don’t know people super well, and I want to surprise them, a couch quilt is better than a bed quilt.

Scrappy of course.  Using THIS tutorial (Thanks, Cluck Cluck Sew).

It is for a third grade teacher from my school.  May it bring them joy!

» Mama Spark's World

Working on a concept for a quilt for a wedding.   The quilt pattern is called Framed Folk.   Instead of making a bunch of blocks I made one row.   I bordered that row and will set it about 2/3 down the top which will be solid white.   I had quite a little bit of help.  He just doesn't understand that his fur leaves a mess on all that white fabric. I have to go over it

A Wedding Quilt . . . . from The Red Headed Mermaid

My niece and nephew were married at the end of July in 2016.
Such a beautiful couple and yes I am biased.

I promised a wedding quilt,
and then life got in the way.

Fast forward to August 2017.
(I know 13 months late!)

(I apologize for the upcoming photos, not the best lighting!)

I had pulled all the fabrics for this quilt last year.
Their palette is navy blues, greys, and whites.
Not my usual, but I have found I do my best work
when challenged!
It's great to be pushed out of your comfort zone.

I call ...

Falling in Love from Night Owl Quilting

Amy brought this serene version of the Fabriculous pattern called "Falling in Love Again"  Amy has made this pattern before and had me customize it for a wedding gift.  You can see that version here.   Amy's mom loved it so much she asked Amy to make one for her to give as wedding gift and Amy agreed!  Amy is obviously an awesome daughter!

Amy selected a new to me pantograph called Autumn Breeze for the body of the quilt.  I love the movement that it has.  I'm sure I will be using it often.

Now for the special ...

Wedding Dress Made into Two Quilts for Bridget's Daughters from Mary Manson Quilts

First quilts of 2020!  Bridget wanted her wedding dress made into two identical quilts for her daughters. Her dress had a very full skirt and a train, so there was plenty of fabric.

Bridget 1
The outer border was quilted in a feather design. The lace that went around the bottom of her skirt was put into the inner border with a spiral quilting design in the open areas.

Bridget 2
The center was a diamond feather design, with a free form feather wreath in the center.

A "No Apologies" Tutorial for Improv Paper Pieced Log Cabin Triangle Quilts from Gefilte Quilt

When I started this quilt, the idea was to make a rainbow-colored 6-pointed star. I hoped to create a pattern people might use to make a wedding canopy, among other things.  The most relaxing way to do that, I figured, would be to start with log cabin triangles.
So what you see in the central area of this quilt are a whole lot of log cabin pieced triangles - each center piece is light, and the three "logs" around it are darker. You're also seeing blocks I call "water lilies" - from left to right, the oddball orange, pink and purple ...
