February In the Garden from From My Carolina Home

My mind has been on my garden for a few days now, as I observe some green shoots coming to life again. The little patch of daffodils is coming up, with buds already showing. This patch is a mixture of all yellow daffodils and some yellow and white ones. They usually bloom in late February, so they are right on time this year.

Ready for Violet from Art In Search

     Finally, the last stitch is in Violet's quilt, just before she turns 4 months on Mar. 14th. I am happy with the longarm quilting. I just went for it and combined motifs. I did small swirls around the letters and a border design. I used Wonderfil Master Quilt lavender (recommended by Terri Cherne at the Wonderfil Booth in Canada years ago) on the  top and Dove Grey DecoBob in the bobbin. Birds, Butterflies, and letters made with patterns from Lynne on Etsy. Quilt design original.
     Now, I just have to get it to her.

Flying to Indiana and Dog/Violet Challenge from Life as a Quilter -- Julia Graber

Life ...
Paul and I had a quick flying trip to Indiana for his cousin Raymond's funeral. Joel was our pilot.

We stayed with cousin Benny & Miriam. She had this beautiful quilt for us to sleep under. I wished I would have asked her the story behind it.

Joel's girls continue to make good use of the steps and books.
