Not to be critical.................. from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, I had a first yesterday, and I got a chuckle out of it! I've presented to hundreds of people over Zoom over the last year and a half. There have been issues - mostly where and how to use the mic and the camera. Yesterday was a first, though!

Last night, I had a person arrive on the call right when it opened. I always open one-half hour early so people can get connected and ask questions, etc. This person starts out, "I don't want to be critical, but ...." and you think - OK -- where is this going? It ...

Tobaggan Hill from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's one of those nights. I have no idea why I woke up when I did. I'm not tired, yet I'm not full of energy. So rather than lay in bed, I'm up and at the computer, which is ridiculous! Hopefully, I'll get a couple of hours of sleep before the girls want me to take them for a walk! I've canceled my reservation for the spin class this morning, which is disappointing, but I don't think I'll survive - I'll need to go back to bed shortly.

Lots happened yesterday, but ...

Time to sew! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Super day alert!!! I accomplished a lot yesterday! OK -- not everything I should be working on, but that's OK - all progress is good!

I tried printing something, and of course, my printer wouldn't work. So I'm going to attempt that again today! I swear, there are days when technology crashes on me, just to keep me humble!

I am determined to NOT let any of those year-long classes become a UFO so let's see what happened. One of the projects is done, which you'll see when I post the show and tell. But one down ...

Urbanologie show and tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Let's have a look at some show and tell today. This is from the Urbanologie class. We're almost at the end of this project, and I confess that I still have a few blocks to make. In some months, we had to make five or six of the same block, and I got one made to do the homework, but not the others. The pieces are cut out, but I need to get them sewn together. I haven't had a chance to put the blocks on the design wall, so I have no idea what the quilt ...

Urbanologie show and tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I almost made my goal yesterday! The quilt top got sewn together. The first border got added. Then I had to deal with a border print. Hmmm -- a bit unusual, but I think I made the best use of it. Just wait until you see what I did! Sorry -- I can't share, and I'm not sure the magazine will show it, but I'll take pictures to share once it's published.

It required a wee bit of finessing to put the outer border on, but it looks awesome, and I have one more corner to touch up ...

Urbanologie Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm not even sure where to start with the show and tell. I seem to have problems remembering if I posted the homework or if I didn't. I checked the blog, and I see that April was the last time I posted homework for this group. Sigh..................

Well, that's the bad news. The good news - you get two months' worth today. It's a small group, so there's not a ton of photos.

These are the dreaded feathers! They were a lot of work, and I'm still working on mine. However, I LOVE this block ...

The Virtual Retreat from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- I promise that tomorrow, I'll get started on all the homework photos. I have things to share with you from the Virtual Retreat.

What fun we had! We got to meet Barb from Maryland!  Lots of familiar faces that stretched across the country and over to Germany. We discovered MANY things, including there's an imposter amongst us! That's all I'm going to say about it, except that we had a good laugh over it.

We talked about everything and anything, including the FitBit and what it tracks and do they do anything with the data ...

Urbanologie show and tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm happy to report that I'm right on track for today after yesterday's marathon sewing and two presentations. I have two classes and a demo. The presentations for the two classes are done. The photos for the demo are taken and just need to be loaded into a presentation. Phew -- who knew all that could happen in a day! I'm looking forward to the virtual retreat tonight.

BUT a bad thing happened. Very bad. And I must remember - FOCUS - FOCUS - FOCUS!!!

So, you know that I have UFOs tucked all over the place - well, mostly in ...

Urbanologie Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What a whirlwind day! Lots of Zooming and lots of deadlines - all of which got met with time to spare! The walking helps me to sort out any issues and is pretty therapeutic. I must NEVER stop walking! I'll just walk shorter distances!

A quick note about the walking: there are four of us in a group walking across Canada. We started last year on July 1st. We started in St. John's, Newfoundland, and we are close to Victoria on the other side of the country. That's a total of 8,000 KM. I figured we would ...

Urbanologie Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So - I'm in a bit of a bind this morning. I don't have a lot of time. I've got THREE presentations today, and two are ready to go - the third one - well, I'm still working on it! Hence the blog will be short and sweet this morning, and the girls will get shortchanged on their walk. I'm not telling them that. Thank goodness, they have no concept of time - well, I don't think they have a concept of time!

I don't know where you live, but around here? Things are looking up! The ...

A picture is worth a thousand words from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What can I say? I LOVE Zoom, and I LOVE teaching on Zoom. Why? Because I can take pictures as I work, and then I can assemble the pictures into a VERY detailed slide presentation. I could never do that in a class unless I took a slide projector with me. Well, I guess we don't call it a slide projector any longer, but you know what I mean.

I even took videos and embedded them into the presentation. Oh yes -- I'm having a fabulous time as I marry technology with sewing.

And the best news? I was ...
