A finished top from Espritpatch

Well, it didn't take very long after all and I didn't want it to be pushed to the bottom of the pile so I assembled all my HST squares into a quilt top, after rearranging them about 20 times!

I like the look of it. Now to find time to quilt it and to select a fabric for the backing. I am so happy this is finally outside of its box on the road to the finish line.

Sewing Studio from Espritpatch

Finally... a mini top ready for quilting. I started the (paper) piecing about one year ago after failing to join the sew-along in 2019 when I initially bought the pattern. I retrieved all the pieces earlier this year, and I was happily surprised that there were a lot of parts already completed. There are so many pieces in this mini quilt top.

And now, a few weeks later, the final stitches are in and the mini is completed.

Of course it still needs quilting but hopefully this won't take forever!

I used a pattern from a Japanese sewing book created by Yukari Nakano. The book contains 28 pieces of simple, sophisticated and well designed clothing; I pretty much want to make all of them. Also, what is nice about her book is that ...

A finished top ... and backing too! from Espritpatch

Last week, I finished all the blocks for the Threadology Quilt-Along from last year on the Fat Quarter Shop blog, so the next step was to put them all together.

Because I sew all the blocks from my scrap baskets with no thoughts on the colour arrangement or final layout. I started laying the blocks following the pattern set but my colours didn't work well together so I changed it to my liking

I digged deep into my stash to find some fabric for the borders.
And the backing of the quilts is pieced too with the remaining big ...
