Another Idea on Off the Wall Friday from Creations - Quilts, Art, Whatever by Nina-Marie Sayre

Anybody who has been paying attention would know that the last 6 months, I've been a bit obsessed with my new job.  Let me just say that Customer Service is not for the weak at heart...but...if you love your product and you love working with people, it can be really fun.  Not to mention throw in a nice work environment and a touch of technology and its really is fun.

That all said, my creative side is slowly but surely coming back to life.  I've had this idea baking in the back of my brain for ...

TRASH OR TREASURE? from Kwilty Pleasures

I can't stay out of thrift stores...
nor do I want too!

I love finding items to recycle...
you know make them into something different...
something that reflects my creative style.

Like this bottle...
I am not sure what it will be yet, but
when my holiday decorations come out...
I know I will find its new purpose.

and this vintage candle ring will
be part of something bigger!

And here are other finds that will
serve purpose as is.

My sister lives in  housing with
many units.  She like to give
Christmas cards to each resident.
Dollar tree ...

Giftbags, Sweatshirts, Chocolate Cake and Shortbread Cookies from Needle and Foot

Lots of fun happening around here these days! Making, baking, getting outside and spending time with family have taken the bulk of my time lately. I couldn’t remember what I had shared lately but after taking a look at my photos on my phone, I found several projects to write about.

Let’s start with these cute matching sweatshirts. I wanted to play with the serger machine my sister gave me a while back. It is really useful for finishing a seam when making clothing. A couple of years back, I picked up about two yards of extra wide ...

Sunday Chat – Blogging, Cooking and Shopping from From My Carolina Home

Boy did my post on Thursday touch a nerve for a lot of us. With over 50 comments in just a few hours, it is clear that most of you love blogs still. Several commenters asked me not to stop blogging, and I want to assure you that I fully intend to keep blogging. I don’t like the Instagram thing, and was pretty much ranting about the demise of bloggers over the past couple of years. But have no fear, I will be continuing to write and post. I just want to find a way to easily read the ...

A Quiet Christmas from Needle and Foot

Happy Holidays everyone! For those who celebrate Christmas, I hope the day was lovely. I think this is probably the smallest gathering we have had for Christmas but you know what? It was great. Julia, Ray and I were together and we enjoyed it very much.

Knowing it was supposed to snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we invited my parents over for cookies and coffee on the 23rd. Mom and Dad live at a higher elevation than us and thus get quite a bit of snow. Once it snows, their part of the highway is often impassable. They ...

Feeling Like Fall! from Needle and Foot

Oh how I love autumn. It means the summer heat is over, the possibility of rain is coming closer, the fire dangers might soon reduce greatly. Colorful leaves, cooking comfort foods, baking bread – this is fall at our house.

The first maple to turn in our yard.

There is no filter or editing done with the photo above. The first of our 1/2 dozen maples has turned to a brilliant crimson color. It is the same each year; this tree turns red first, drops its leaves first, and leafs out first. Then the other two on the front lawn ...

5 Minute Stocking Stuffer from From My Carolina Home

I was watching a football game last weekend and saw the referee with his mask on a lanyard, so he could remove it to announce a penalty call then replace it quickly. This got me thinking. It is a bit of a pain to put on a mask to go into a store, take it off in the car, put it back on for the post office, take it off again. When we walk on the local trails, I hold it in my hand to put on when we meet others on the trails, then take it off again when ...

Welcome Autumn With a Little Bit of Fun from From My Carolina Home

Finally, we can welcome Autumn this week.  I loved the cooler temperatures this past weekend!  It was just the right time to show a few autumn inspired ideas for a bit of fun to lighten our lives seemed appropriate.  So often now, we have to make a effort to keep our spirits up and find a way to have fun while staying home.  Here are a few of my ideas, some from past projects.  This little Pumpkin Leaf Candle Mat was from Autumn Jubilee 2016.  Put it on the kitchen counter with a wonderful Autumn Wreath scented candle (if you ...
