Pattern is from this book; Tusseladd Polar.
The good news is that the back is just a big rectangle. I used a 20 row hung hem. I used the drop shoulder sweater pattern from The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns: Basic Designs in Multiple Sizes and Gauges. It is a great place to start your sweater-knitting journey if you are a hand knitter. I found converting the stitch counts to machine knitting easy. Knitting the front of the ... read more
I always find it a little bit difficult to figure out what to wear at this time of year because where I live, the temperature can change drastically from one day to the next or even during the same day! That is why I love cardigans so much. You can start the day with the cute top and a cardigan but around Noon, take off the cardigan and just wear the cute top. So I've been on the look-out for a sweater pattern along with a good sweater knit to go along with it. I can't remember where I found it or even when I found it, but I eventually came across the Elsa Sweater by DG Patterns.
The sweater came together fairly easily but I did struggle a little bit with the cuffs. Not sure if it was my fault (if I made a mistake when I printed the pattern), but I couldn't ... read more
Pattern: “Nord” from Sandnes yarn. Booklet «Tema 51 Norske ikoner»
Yarn: Puno from Rauma Yarn
The pattern calls for "Fritidsgarn" wool yarn, but he is very sensitive, so I chose to use alpaca instead after recommendations in my local yarn shop. My son is between size M and L, I knitted him and L with this yarn, but ended up a little smaller than desired. He will hopefully use the sweater anyway, he is spending the next 5 months at Svalbard; an arctic island.
