I do believe I said... from Bizarre Quilter

Did you hear me say there would be more time to stitch? Well, feast your eyes, I've had a busy few days.

I call this one Our Lady of Guadalope. I went to her shrine in Mexico and asked her to make me a mother. It worked. 13 months later, despite being in full menopause, I had met a man, become an instant mother and became pregnant. I have plans to create a large applique collage of Our Lady in bright colours. Not sure when yet.

This Sun piece is exceptional. I love it so much, it sold straight ...

Sunday Quilt Inspiration: SUNRISE / SUNSET from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Sunrises and sunsets, when I get to see them in person, remind me of the beauty of individuality. Every one is stunningly beautiful and stunningly different. In fact, I've been on my way home, seen a gorgeous sunset out of my windshield, and pulled over several times to take pictures of the same sunset.

One time, while driving across the I-10 bridge in Baton Rouge the sunset looked like it could not get any better, so I pulled over in Lobdell to take a photo. Then on Hwy. 190, it changes before my eyes--every few minutes the colors become ...

Bias Tape Appliqué from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hello my fellow makers!

It has been a while since my last post, I missed so much connecting with you! To make a good come back I decided to co-design a wall art with my little one, Carlota. She loves to participate in my projects, and I love to keep her busy and motivated with creative tasks.

When she showed me her drawing of a rainbow that is also a sun to bring joy and happiness to our lives, I decided to use the bias tape appliqué technique to translate her idea into our quilty project. Today we will talk ...

Sunday Quilt Inspiration: Sunset / Sunrise from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Yesterday my sister, Courtney, and I were driving home from visiting another sister, Laura. At the top of an overpass, Courtney exclaimed, "Oh look!" We had a perfect view of one gorgeous sunset.

I got only a glimpse because I was driving and this particular overpass makes a serious curve away from the setting sun. Nevertheless, I shared a spectacular moment with Courtney. She has dementia, so every lucid moment is important.

As we drove along, she kept looking back and naming the colors in the sky and I enjoyed the few minutes that she was able to verbalize the ...
