Good morning, my friends. It started as an ordinary day...playing word games, checking email, perusing the news to see if the United States is at war with Europe yet. (Just kidding about that last part...sort of.) When I'd had my coffee, I asked Mike if he'd like breakfast first or if I should write my blog post first. He opted for breakfast. And everything was going along fine until I went to wash out the bowl emptied of pancake batter (pancakes on the griddle by then). When I turned the faucet on...nothing. Not a dribble ...

Good morning my friends. My morning got off to a slow start yesterday. For one thing, I slept in until 7:00 a.m. I'm an early-to-bed-early-to-rise kind of person. Generally, I'm up and at 'em during the 5:00 hour, and so losing two hours out of my morning is a lot. I didn't even get dressed until shortly before noon. Sadie was busy outside. She was appalled at the level of sloth.

Summer is only just barely getting started. Generally, we don't get predictably warm weather until after the Fourth of July holiday. Speaking of the Fourth, we have a stay-at-home celebration planned. A friend with no family nearby has a Fourth of July birthday, and we've invited him up for dinner on that day. I'll bake him some cookies. Everyone ...

When we drove up our driveway, a doe was relaxing in the shade of one of our flowering plum trees. Sorry for the poor quality of this picture. I was far away (for a phone picture). I worried if I tried moving closer, I would scare her away.

Good morning, my friends, and welcome to Wednesday. The sun is shining here, just as the weatherman promised. I'd be out pulling weeds this morning, except that I'm getting a pedicure today. It'll be good to have my personal self re-groomed, even if the outdoors still looks a complete mess. 

Mike spoke with our neighbor yesterday about what kind of weather caused the downed limbs we're seeing. It was a heavy wet snow coupled with high winds, and it all happened just after we left home back in February. Mike's to-do list for today includes ...

Good morning, my friends, and welcome to Wednesday. The sun is shining here, just as the weatherman promised. I'd be out pulling weeds this morning, except that I'm getting a pedicure today. It'll be good to have my personal self re-groomed, even if the outdoors still looks a complete mess.

We're expecting a little more rain today, but I still think I'll be able to make some progress on the weeds. Also on today's agenda...a badly-needed haircut. I trimmed it a few times while we were traveling, and actually, I think I like it a little bit longer than how I've been wearing it. In any case, it needs to be ...
