Free Bunny Sewing Pattern from Patchwork Posse

This super quick Free Bunny Sewing Pattern is great for any occasion, and seriously they are so easy to make. 3 things are needed- fabric, ribbon, polyfil.

A few years ago, I convinced my Eliza to sew up a few bunnies for some cousins.

Sewing with kids isn’t terrible….but it does take the right blend of everything.

This does it…… which just means that if she can do it, you can too!

These bunny softies are perfect for Easter gifts, for your best friend. It’s such a cute bunny, and super simple to sew.

You can make ...

Sunday Chat – Tablescape, Stamping, Garden from From My Carolina Home

Good morning. Let’s start off the day with a nice photo of the pear tree in bloom. I went out when the sun came out earlier in the week to get a better shot of the lovely white flowers with the mountain background. It is something to help your mood this morning as we all deal with the time change. Ugh, I hate this switching to daylight saving time.

I really like this one, and it may be an entry in next year’s state fair photography contest.

I’ve been clearing out a lot of my tablescaping stuff ...

Scrappy Batik from Heart Desire Creations

There are seven bins full of batiks in my studio, one of which is scraps. From the book “Scrap=Basket Bounty”, I chose the Snippets pattern to make use of the scraps. The cuts are 1 1/2″ squares and 1 1/2″ by varying lengths. There are 80 blocks with 16 pieces in each – in all 1,280 pieces! Here is the first round of piecing:

Then another. Chain sewing makes for quick work, but I’ll admit to getting bored part way through and switched to another project.

Finally, there were blocks to put on the design wall ...

Spring Things from From the Strawberry Patch...

We've had some glorious spring days; those days when one longs to be outside potting up pretty plants and flowers. We made our annual pilgrimage down east to our favorite nursery last week and brought home a carload of lush loveliness for that very purpose. The weather cooperated and I accomplished much but, alas, I'll be covering everything up tonight as the temps are dipping dangerously close to

Spring Projects from From My Carolina Home

With the warming weather, I think many of us get a bit of cabin fever, wanting to do some outdoor activities and spring projects. I thought it was time to hang a Spring Wreath. I made this one a few years ago, and it is still looking good.

Spring is a nice time to send some special cards, especially if you missed sending Easter ones like I did. These rabbits work on the inside as well as the front of a card. Punching a decorative window on the front gives you a dimensional card. See the entire post on how ...

Wild Flowers -- A Better Garden from Quilting through Rose-colored Trifocals!

Today's post is not about my current quilting activity (although I've been piecing every day), it's about native spring wild flowers here in Ohio.  The spring before Covid, I visited the southwest corner of Ohio to participate in a Wild Flower Pilgrimage and have wanted to return each spring since.  Finally this spring, in the company of a friend, I was able to do that.

I think that first trip was a turning point for me and my home garden because now I just want to fill it with native wild flowers.  Their beauty has won me ...

Angela announced that April is Pink.  And nature got the memo :-)

It is like the sun and breeze shared a naughty joke and all flora blushed.

Looks like my fabrics are blushing too. I will be sharing with Angela's linky party.

Easter Bunny?

When a pink Easter bunny hopped on to my work, I ate him up :-D

Voila!!!

I have about a dozen pink blocks. All different sizes. How will I put them together?

With a lot of mixing and matching, cutting ...

New Pantographs and Block Boards from From the Strawberry Patch...

I saw a pantograph that I really loved and had to have; in true "one thing leads to another" form I found myself ordering more than one once I had logged onto the website, a dangerous place for me to spend too long! Anyway, one of these new (to  me) pantographs, that I didn't even know that I needed, is "Malachite". I'm excited about the resulting texture on this scrappy Maze quilt that I had

Spring MINIs Drive from From My Carolina Home

This past weekend, we led a drive for our MINI club. Several last minute cancellations meant we had fewer cars than usual for the drive, but we still had a nice time. We met at a local brewery for lunch, lining up together as we like to do. I don’t care for beer but that is where the group coordinator wanted to start as our club will host a big event there later in the year. That silver MINI on the end is an electric model. It was fun to see, and so quiet.

After lunch, we set out ...

One for Spring from Heart Desire Creations

Melee the quilt is finished! I have, however, changed the name to “Vibrance” which is much more positive. This was made from blocks I had put away for some time. The blocks were cut up in varying shapes and sizes and put on the design wall with a minimal plan.

The center of this quilt was definitely planned.
The two ends of the quilt had the full triangles as a border.

It was back from the long arm quilter last week and I couldn’t wait to add the binding. Yes, there were extra “corners,” but they were easy. This ...

Welcome, Spring! from From the Strawberry Patch...

After a few false starts it looks as though spring is here to stay! These white Iris are from my childhood home, I dug up a little clump of them before my parents sold the home and moved twelve years ago. Since then, I have divided them at least four times, our daughter in the Capital City has a clump of her own (which may have also been divided by now)! These Iris were added more recently,
