A Finish, and Family Time from Romany Quilting

It seems to have been a long time since I had a RSC finish to share.  In fact, it is a "two for one deal" as it  also ticks the box for the Chookshed Challenge number 3 which was chosen for August.  These selvedge blocks were started in Rainbow Scrap Challenge during 2020 and each month I stitched one in the nominated colour.  I had decided to make these blocks for a tote bag, and also stitched a couple of handles, and sone extra selvedge strips in burgundy for the top of the bag.  Then it was put aside.

Bag ...

Get a hair cut! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

From time to time (OK - every day), I check the stats on this blog. I'm not sure that I even understand how to read them, but I LOVE how the numbers change depending on the topic. The ketchup story? Lots of readers - so can you tell me who is searching the internet for ketchup? Appears that lots of people are.

I'm happy (OK - thrilled) to report that today is Friday! What does that mean? Well, it's Step One of reopening in our province, and that means non-essential stores are open (if they choose to be), and so ...

Pink and Blue RSC Blocks from Romany Quilting

In between the usual Saturday chores I spent some time today at my sewing machine.  It was time to sew some more Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks, and I’m doing some catch up sewing from last month too.  Being away on a caravan holiday for 3 weeks meant I couldn’t complete all my pink sewing for June, so I’m pleased I’m now up to date.  The colour for July is dark blue, am I the only one hankering for some cheery sunny yellow?  But I’ve sorted through my dark blue scraps and organised what I need ...

Green Selvedge Sewing from Romany Quilting

I’ve a little more dark green sewing to share this week, using some of my selvedges.  Don’t know why, but no matter how many selvedge strips I use each time, there seems to be just as many hiding in the bag!  Many thanks to Angela of So Scrappy for organising all the Rainbow Scrap Challenge sewers and running the Linky Party.  It’s always so nice to see what others have been stitching too each week.

So what RSC stitching have I done this week?  Another selvedge block to add with the others I’ve already stitched.  These ...

Strawberries and Cream from From the Strawberry Patch...

Strawberries and Cream ~ 60" X 68" I finally finished piecing and quilting this scrappy quilt from years ago, it was inspired by an antique quilt that I saw at a  Quilt Guild "show and tell" and fell in love with. I drafted the pattern and set to work. This may just be one of my favorite all-time quilts.  I backed it with this precious strawberry print. Naming this one was a natural.  I don't
