What A Day! from Quilting My Way

This morning at 4 am, I had to fix my monitor. Then went back to sleep. When I woke, I noticed the heart monitor moved. So, I had to fix it again. Since my skin is getting better, I may change the monitor to the position I had when I first started.

Patrick left before I was up. He went golfing. I cleaned up a little. Then started loading the car with all the stuff I need to take tomorrow for QOV presentation. I'm still needing to add a few more things to the car. Right now, it's ...

Still Working from Quilting My Way

This morning I was ready to work on another quilt top. I played a little before going downstairs. Needed to work on getting the room warm.

Took this apart the other day. Patrick thought of using some busy fabric as a panel.

This fabric piece is going to be hard to figure out something for the quilts. I'll get there.

But this won't work. I tried, but I just couldn't get over how busy it was. It was a good though.

So, I finally decided on this. The fabric between the blocks are stripped with small stars ...

Always and Forever Table Runners from Crayon Box Quilt Studio

One of the things that has been very satisfying over the last year and a half has been the fact that I've been able to get a bunch of UFOs finished or previously un-started projects actually made and off my To Make list.  One of the items crossed off the UFO list was the pair table runners I pieced using a charm pack of Always and Forever by Deb Strain for Moda.

The last time I showed these here on the blog was February 2014, so a whopping 8 years ago.

They were both simple piecing but I still ...

Slowed Down Today from Quilting My Way

We were up at 6 am to head to Olympia. Both of us had blood tests to do. Patrick got his results already and I'm still waiting on one of mine. We stopped at Judy's on the way back for breakfast. Patrick dropped me off at home while he headed out to have coffee with some of his fellow co-workers. They are now all retired, so they take a day and have coffee and "gossip."

When he was done there, he stopped at moms and fixed her shower.

While he was gone, I got a phone call regarding ...

Getting Blocks Done from Quilting My Way

This morning I enjoyed the day to myself and watched a couple ancestry shows. Then I decided it was time to go downstairs. Since Patrick was golfing, I didn't have to account for what I was doing. Not that it mattered.

I worked on the blocks that I was working on yesterday.

From this stack, I was able to get 22 blocks done today. I also had to make more of the middle strips as I was low on those. It felt good to have those done. I still have a good stack and need to do more of ...

Sewing Day - Then A Movie from Quilting My Way

This morning I decided I wanted to get back to work on the blocks for QOV. So, I headed downstairs, with Sophie following. I wanted to get some of those squares into a bock and out of boxes.

I pulled out the reds. Then I got to work on sewing them up. I sewed sets of 3. I wanted to have all the block parts ready to pick up and sew together.

I now just need to sew those together. I still have more red to work on. I didn't touch the blue - which will be next. I was ...

One Busy Day from Quilting My Way

This morning we were relaxing before having to head out to Olympia. By noon we were on our way. Had to stop at the bank first, then off to Olympia. I had my breathing tests today. We thought it would only be about an hour, but then it ended up being a little longer. I had to wait a good 20 mins past my appointment to be seen. Patrick waited out in the car.

Once all that was done, we headed to Costco. Once that was done, we dropped some food off at Phil's and came home. I was ...

Finally Worked On A QOV Quilt! from Quilting My Way

This morning I was going to be lazy and work on laundry....yeah, nope.

I went downstairs and turned the fireplace on. Then I went back down to work on the quilt that was on the wall. Patrick gave me suggestions which at first I didn't like, but did anyway. It turned out better than I thought it would.

My idea was the red border in the inside. His idea was the blue between the blocks. I wanted to do white, but now I realize why he said no. Don't tell him, but I think it turned out ...

Stashbuster Challenge from From My Carolina Home

This year, I want to reduce the size of the stash in my sewing room. It is so easy to buy beautiful fabric, and then have a hard time cutting into it. Ever feel that way? It is almost that I am afraid to make a mistake in how I choose to use it, that I might regret cutting it up for a particular project, then wish I had it back for a different design. I think maybe this is why I design so many scrappy quilts, as I cannot go wrong using the bits left over, and I have ...

Cleaning The Last Of It Today from Quilting My Way

This morning we woke to the phone going off that Flooding is expected by tonight (which it is). We got both a text and a call telling us the river by us is in the flood watch and was expected to go over the river levels tonight. Patrick's bowling league canceled due to flooding in Centralia. We found out Jackson Hwy is flooded as well. Then the other road we use to get to the freeway was also closed. Debbie was lucky to get home when she did. (She picked up fabric for her QOV quilt)

Then we decided ...

Working On Another Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning I felt a lot better. I did stay home while Patrick went to his 8:30 am appointment. Sophie decided to let me know he left at 7:30 am. Then she let me know she wasn't happy about something at 8:30 am, so I finally gave it up on sleeping in. lol

Oh, last night I flushed the toilet and it wouldn't shut off. Patrick was ticked because he had to get up in the middle of the night to TRY and fix it. So, he shut the water off and we went back ...

Making Changes from Quilting My Way

This morning I enjoyed sleeping in. lol

After getting moving, I played a few games then went downstairs to work on that quilt top. I ended up taking the 2 sides of the border out. Then I decided to add the red between what is done and the blue that I took out. I'm adding another piece in it's place.

This is a 2 1/2" piece added to the sides. I got the 2 sides done, and decided I would stop. Wasn't in the mood to fight this. I had to trim the piece once again ...

While I Watch The Seahawk...... from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up early to see if I could get my game done...nope. I was out the door by 9:30. Then made 3 stops along the way. I wanted to get Patrick a peanut butter doughnut like the one he got for me the other day. They didn't make that kind today, but they did have one like his maple bars but was peanut butter, so got that. They had some really good doughnuts. Now I have a place to go for doughnuts!

Arrived a little late at our meeting. Only Sandy and Cindy were ...

Working On A Top Again from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick was off to his golf tournament. I was going to enjoy the day to myself. I had a hard time trying to decide if I wanted to work on my beading or go downstairs. I know I need to get more tops done, so I headed downstairs.

I was tired of seeing this on the wall. I decided to go down and get to work on it.

Of course there are those days when things go wrong. At least this was the only thing that went wrong so far! I sewed the two square together twice. So ...

Another Meeting Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed to moms. It's Friday quilting day. I made us a Chai tea and then everyone started showing up.

I worked on the half square triangles.

Mom had pages and pages there for me to sew. I left her 9 pages as I did the rest. I was surprised at how much I was able to get done. Patrick surprised us all by stopping by and giving mom a strawberry pie. He went to the Mennonite bakery in Rochester. We used to stop there when we went to the casino, but we haven't been to ...

Playing With Blocks Today from Quilting My Way

I headed over to moms to work on QOV quilts. I took that stash of stuff with me. We started separating them, Then Debbie said she would come over and I pulled everything out. I put the blocks on the kitchen table, the panels in the living room and the fabric in the bedroom. She took a few things, which made me happy!

Mom and I decided to put a panel quilt together, so we laid it out on the floor.

We picked this one to work with. Mom wanted to put the strips there, over the border already on ...

Another Day At Moms from Quilting My Way

It was quilting at moms today. We do this every Friday, so that shouldn't surprise anyone.

I worked in the sewing room while listening to everyone. I worked on the half square triangles. Had to order more paper strips for mom.

We got a LOT done! I just need to get moving on working on blocks. Must have enough to make 10 quilts at this rate!!

Came home and Patrick took me to Red Lobster. I was amazed at how much food they served! It was enough for 3 meals to me. Brought at least half if not more ...

Heat Wave Started in WA from Quilting My Way

This morning I was off to moms. I took Nancy to the doctors office to get her records and then she came back with her friend Sandy. We had 7 of us show up. It was fun. Everyone worked on their projects and I worked on the half square triangles.

I got a lot done and added them to moms pile. For lunch we made baked potatoes. I cooked them in the Air Fryer and they turned out crisp and great.

Came back home. I got 1 row of beading done. It's took hot and we don't have ...

Finished Another Quilt Top from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed over to moms. We planned on working on the QOV quilts. She's still cutting the squares for the 9 patch variation quilt. She was using my half square triangles. I accidently took her the 6" ones, so I need to remember to take over the 3" ones. I will do that on Friday. I took the tub that has the panels and blocks in them.

We looked for fabric that we could use for the borders.

We decided on this one. I need to iron it. I also need to cut the backing and batting ...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick brought up the cinnamon rolls for me to put in the oven. I made some last night and we let it raise over night downstairs where it is cool. They were really good this morning.

Katt called to chat with her dad. I got to chat with her too. She's sounding really good. I do miss that girl of mine!

I finally went downstairs to work on the quilt top that I'm doing. I need to figure out a border for it. I will try to get that done soon so I can take the ...
