Finish #2 for 2024 from Life In Pieces

My handwork project during our 4th of July road trip was the binding for the 2023 Stay at Home Round Robin sponsored by Quilting Gail.  I finished the binding on Tuesday, but wasn't able to get photos till Sunday afternoon.  Here's the finished Blue Birds.

This was my first time participating in the round robin. It was such fun and I'm really happy with how the final quilt turned out. All the blocks are made from my blue, green, purple and teal scraps. This quilt is destined to be My Guy's new TV recliner quilt.  He ...

The Stay at Home Round Robin: Not Quite a Finish from Life In Pieces

I had really hoped to make more progress on the Stay at Home Round Robin project this week, but I continue to have issues with both my shoulder and my back.  I've been instructed to stay out of the sewing room and minimize my computer time.  So here's where my version of the SAHRR stands as of today.

Center birds were made using "Feathers"

To Do List for the Week of 1/31/2023 from Life In Pieces

January always seems to pass so slowly, while all the other months of the year tend to wiz by.  Maybe it's because I'm in recovery mode from the holidays?  At any rate, today is the last day of January. February usually speeds by. I wonder if that will be the case now that I'm retired?

Last weekend I was in Fort Worth, TX with Grad Girl and her college roommate (the adopted blond haired daughter).  It was a fun weekend, but it did impact how much time I had to work on last week's to do ...

Stay at Home Round Robin: Prompt 1 Spool Blocks from Life In Pieces

It's been a weird week. It's amazing what can pop up that derails your day and consequently any stitching plans you might have had. My stitching week is also short a few days this week due to the planned meet up with Grad Girl this weekend.  All of that to say I didn't get as far as I'd hoped on the first prompt for the Stay at Home Round Robin. But there was some progress.

First step was to add coping steps to bring the center up to 12" by 18".

The math works out to ...

To Do Tuesday for the Week of 1/17/2023 from Life In Pieces

It was a good week on the stitching front. No fever for 24 hours as of Sunday morning, so we were able to get mostly back to normal in terms of living arrangements.  Thankfully staying on 2 separate floors seems to have been effective, My Guy never did test positive for Covid.

Other than the low grade fever, I felt pretty good most of the week and made some good progress on my To Do List.

Weekly To Do List for 1/10/2023

1. Melodic Mystery: Finish half blocks for Jan clue ✔

2. Chilhowie: Finish first block and clue ...
