We started another 3 quilt machine quilting comparison series. This time we are looking at my Radiant Star quilt.

The first machine quilting option uses free-motion and ruler quilting to create a beautiful surface design.

New Quilt Design

Love of Quilting May June 2021 issue features my new quilt, Lazy River!

Get a copy at Fat Quarter Shop.  The pattern is beginner friendly.

Love the colors? It’s made with Free Spirit  Kaffe Fassett Collective Fabrics. Some my favorites are  OMBRE LEAVES, MAD PLAID and SHOT COTTONS.

NOTE: Free Spirit provided the fabrics for this project.

It is quilted with  Westalee Design Spin-e-Fex Snowflake template.  The template series has several shapes. This quilt features the circle.

I have two fun videos to share with you today on machine quilting on the Janome 1600P. This high speed, straight stitch machine is quickly becoming my favorite for free motion quilting and ruler quilting because it’s so fast and makes such a perfect stitch!

Click Here to find the Ditcher Ruler. You’ll want the home machine thickness, which is 1/8-inch thick, only if you have a home sewing machine with a low shank foot. This is typically more inexpensive sewing machines like the Eversewn Sparrow 20.
