After spending time organising my scrap tub last month, I was quite excited to start working with my green scraps as I knew they were all there in one place and easy to access.

Last couple of years I hadn't participated in Rainbow Scrap Challenge also known as RSC. To think the first year I did was in 2013 and went on thru to 2018, so this year I'm back in but this year I'll be putting a twist on it. Instead of using my scraps on quilts I'll be making bags.
I will be making a variety of different types and styles.
My thoughts are to make ones mainly for holding my knitting or crocheting projects.
Seeing how I just didn't have my sewing Mojo last month I ...
read more Hi everyone! I sincerely hope that all of you are warm and have running water. I know that a lot of the country is quite cold right now, and many of you in Texas are in real crisis. Know that I feel for you, truly. I went to college in Ft. Worth, and I can only imagine the situation. We have been really cold for Maryland, but thankfully we are all good here. I hope things are getting better where you are, too.
On to something happier and much, much lighter-- I finished another quilt. Yay me! Here she is ...
read moreA couple of weeks ago, I made a scrappy quarter log cabin cushion for the couch. It's quite heavily quilted and sturdy for the amount of sitting and leaning and cuddling that will be required of it. Since then, I haven't been able to get out of my head the idea that I'd like to make a quilt out of scrappy quarter log cabin blocks... so I set about doing that.

The good news is that I have *one* working light in my sewing room now, and I have a new floor in the living area, which was a real adventure. A good story for another time! It does involve a mini jackhammer, though.
I'm working on making 4 different Harry Potter quilts. You've seen the blocks for the full Harry Potter: Project of Doom bookcase quilts that I've been working on. I just finished paper piecing the last 4 blocks for the bookcase portion of those quilts. Woohoo! I do still have LOTS of embroidery left to do on those quilt blocks (lots of book titles).

read more Hi everyone! How are things down your way, as they say? (They do say that, don't they?) Things here are going well enough. It's been a bit chillier and more seasonal for January, which is fine because it hasn't snowed. Last Wednesday I binge-watched the inauguration and all the events, so that was a fun day. I did not get my steps in that day. In the sewing room, I'm working on something I've started calling "the thousand hour project." It's darned cute, but it's taking forever!
Today I just have a few ...
