Quilting and Blogging from From My Carolina Home

The weather this week has cooled off and the humidity is down, so there was a lovely day to open the windows behind the longarm and get this quilt done. It was 58ยบ at dawn, when I got up, and by the time I began working on this QOV, it was still in the 60s. Fresh cool air filled the basement as a gentle breeze wafted through the lace curtains.

I finished quilting it in just a few passes, using white Glide thread on the top, and Bottom Line in the bobbin. The pantograph is called Blue Star.

Pin It Weekly #295 -- A Review of Doctor Zhivago from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

First, Doctor Zhivago is dead! Oh, spoiler alert. He really does die, finally. It's a great book. No, better than great--worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize in literature--but long and difficult. And I'm a good reader. Honestly I'm not bragging, I just am, having read well over 100 books (here's a list of the ones I remember). 

Despite being a good reader, I needed two full weeks to read the book of only 560 pages. Yes, I worked on it, but I did just as much reading looking up Russian terms, history, maps. All of it ...
