It rained today!
I opened the windows and the back door
and even went out to stand in the nice cool rain.
I has been in the triple digits with the heat factor for so many days
that the house has been closed up and the air conditioners running night and day.
It has not even cooled off at night.
A steady healing is now a cause for celebration.
In truth, I have always loved summer rains and in my younger days would take a walk in the rain.
Today I just opened my door and enjoyed.
Hope the rains ...

This is the first moisture we've had since September and we are over the moon grateful for every dropSeems like most folks fuss about rain, but it's such a necessity for farmers and ranchers and out here in

I have some thoughts on this that I will share. As I finished meeting half of one of the goals it started pouring, I’m enjoying… Continue reading Lightening, Self-care, and upcoming classes

LOL.I'm sorry, but as ranchers, our life pretty much really does revolve around the weather. After a Sunday morning breakfast omelet, DH and I headed out on a rain run. The rain gauge here at the house just had 0.2" in it, but around

Just the day before our QOV sew day, it snowed. As I watched the snow fall, it seemed that every bird in the neighborhood needed a bit of extra fuel to deal with the cold.
Fat flakes came down all morning.
A bluebird showed up to share the bounty.
The red bellied woodpecker shares the buffet with a titmouse.
On the snow covered ground, a flock of juncos was looking for seeds dropped ...

It worked out perfectly for this project and is super easy and FAST! Still no sewing for me, only a little frogging…. because we are now rained out and we can’t get home. After three years of severe drought, all the outback roads have closed due to rain, just one day before I wanted to use them! Yup, Arkaroola has had 68.4mm rain in the last two days, which is more than double their last year’s entire rainfall. It’s absolutely fabulous, except that we are on the wrong side of raging creeks, washed out crossings and government road closures. A small price ...

Those of you that have been here long enough know that weather is a big part of our lives. Farmers and ranchers are obsessed with the weather and when it rains here in the desert, ya'll know a post is going to pop up sooner or later. On the night of September 30th we had a
