At the Top from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. It's a Red Letter Day. I believe I'll finish the quilting for Calendula Patterdrip's Cottage today. My binding strips are already cut, and I'm getting ready for a good old-fashioned sit and stitch binding session. The kitties really like it when we can stitch a binding.

Sometimes I'm lucky enough to get two cats on my lap.

It was time for my monthly pedicure yesterday. My appointment was at 11:00. With the drive to and from, it took up the best part of the day. Of course, an outing any ...

Low Energy Day from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. I'm afraid the Christmas madness is causing my battery to discharge more quickly and easily than usual. Yesterday's outing was for a haircut, and then I stopped at the grocery store on my way home. Christmas dinner will be at our house this year, and I wanted to pick up a few things I needed. I'll have to go again tomorrow to pick up the things that need a few more days in order to stay fresh for next week's meal. The weather was clear enough the kitties were able to get ...

Next Steps from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. Since I'm here writing, you can assume I survived my dental appointment yesterday morning. The traffic was terrible driving in, and then there was a minor snafu at the parking garage. Parking downtown seems always to turn into a snafu. The drive home wasn't bad. When I arrived home, I took a too-long nap, and that cut into my sewing time for the day. I'd awakened too early in the morning with dentistry on my mind, and found it hard to get back to sleep. Thus, the nap, but I probably would have ...

Home Again from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. Happily, I'm sitting at my desk at home to write this post. How are y'all doing? It's been a while since we've spoken while stationary. Feels weird, doesn't it?

So lemme tell you about the drive home, and then I'll tell you what's going to happen next. We left Klamath Falls under sunny skies. The road out of Klamath Falls runs alongside Upper Klamath Lake. It's the largest body of fresh water by surface area in Oregon. It is approximately 25 miles (40 km) long and 8 miles ...

Scant Progress from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. Yesterday seemed a little hectic, but only because I had to drive into town for a doctor's appointment. I sweetened the deal for myself by heading to my favorite fabric store afterward. Happily, I found some fabric to finish off the "Spices" quilt and I bought some solid black yardage while I was there. There are no plans for the black, but I like having a good supply of black and white on hand since I use it fairly frequently. I'm down to my last half yard, and so it seemed a good time ...

Two Blocks from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. First of all, thank you for your many kind comments about the Tin Cup Store quilt. I'm so glad you like it. It was the most difficult of the art quilts I've attempted, and completing it has enhanced my confidence level. There are two prompts left in this round of quilts. I have ideas for both, and so I'll be working on the next one soon. To see how others in the group interpreted the "Vintage" prompt, visit The Endeavourers blog right here.

In other sewing, I finished top-stitching the first block for ...

Fresh Start from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. It's good to have the quilt sandwiches done so that I can get back to my regular routine. Of course, some things never change. Unless something pressing happens, the day must start with some slow-stitching. Yesterday, I took the first stitches on the 11th block for the "Kittens" quilt.

From there, I took a walk on the treadmill, and then I took a walk around outside. The kitties are allowed out in the morning, and we keep pretty close tabs on them. In my walk-around, I noticed buds on at least three of the four ...
