Time for Project Quilting 13.1 first challenge of 2022All the colors is the theme over at Persimon dreams website. I have been doing quite a few of these challenges since some of the first seasons. Sometimes you need a boost to get started on something. This challenge was perfect to start because it is so cold and blah outside right now. This quilt is 40" x 55" fabric from stash, low volume

There are five drawers in my new WIP cabinet and I am trying to figure out what to put in them. In no particular order, but numbered for clarity, here is how they will be filled:

Drawer Two will be for the current Leader / Ender. Right now, it is the Dots and Dashes quilt. Even though this is the current Leader / Ender, I am using Postage Stamp quilt as a Leader / Ender while working on my mini quilt.

We decided to hold our family gathering virtually because of schedules and the virus. This means that we have to give some time to mail our representation gifts. I will let you know what fun ideas everyone had after we distribute them and hold our gathering.

2021:  Week 47 of 15 Minutes to Stitch

It's been busy at work while we gear up to meet with the customers. I am hosting the Thanksgiving gathering this year, so I have been spending time getting ready for them. This means that there hasn't been a lot of sewing, but I did have all those loose pieces I needed to press for the October house mini quilt. I decided that it would be better for me to go ahead and lay them out and press them down instead of leaving all these little fused pieces all loose ...

We had a nice extended colorful leaf season. It has been wonderful to see all the different hues of autumn and see the colors fall in the breeze.

The cold season has begun.  First we had frosted tips on the leaves.

It's getting colder now and we had snow showers yesterday and big puffy snowflakes this morning.

Let the animals eat the Halloween decorations.

2021:  Week 45 and 46 of 15 Minutes to Stitch

I didn't get around to posting my status last week, but I did a lot of quilting. Besides making the red postage stamp block ...

I continued taking lots of photographs this week, and have gone through my October folder to see if there were any other photos to show you. 

Most of these photos are taken with an iphone. Since I am taking so many photos, I thought I would try to submit some to Shutterstock. 

They rejected all of the ones I submitted, mostly due to compression and focus. It's okay. I am not upset. I figured that if they were usable, I should try. If they aren't, I can share them on my blog without worrying about it.

With the shorter days and cooler weather, I have been focusing on getting my house ready for the winter. Even though I have been spending most of my time at home anyway, I feel the need to be ready to continue to do that for the winter.

I am also working full time, doing my favorite part of the project.

2021:  Week 43 of 15 Minutes to Stitch

It's Friday, y'all!  It sure seems like the weeks are just flying by, doesn't it?  I'm sure many of you are working on Christmas presents already, but I hope you'll have something to share that you are whooping about this week - so let's get started!

I like the mood of the fat quarters. Mature and sophisticated. But it doesn't entice or motivate me to make the blocks.

I have some yardage of solids which are brighter which entice me more.  They look fine in this picture, but when I was looking at them earlier, I decided that I could use the tamer fabric, and stay sophisticated while adding a little zing. So for now, I will keep the fat quarters in the ...

2021:  Week 41 of 15 Minutes to Stitch

This week, I sewed up the columns of Tuxedo Vest and completed the quilt top. I also completed a block for the Postage Stamp quilt. I pressed both of them and photographed them and showed both of them to you in my last post. Then I started the next Postage Stamp block.

 For the last few weeks, I have been telling you that I stitched a seam here, I stitched a seam there, but didn't have anything noteworthy to show you. I have finally reached a point where I have "finishes" to share and want to show them to you now. 

First up is a finished postage stamp block. This is the third block. I am now thinking about what color / fabric to use as a constant for the next block.

 We are just a couple of days into October, but Zeus and I walked a different route, so there are plenty of photos to share, even if some of them are weeds.

I was able to fit even more burgers into the pan after I took this photo. So nice to be able to make the whole batch at once.

Last week's photo challenge was A Wild Animal.  This is a difficult subject for me, mostly because I take my photos when I am walking my dog, so I can't sneak close to any living creature without it getting alerted by my dog. He doesn't run or bark, but he does breathe heavily at his age.  I cropped this photo since we were so far away, but it reminds me of the Beatles cover even though the geese are on a sidewalk and not a street crossing.

Welcome to the first Friday in October!  Have the leaves started changing color where you are?  I love this time of year, probably because I grew up in Miami, FL where the leaves NEVER change, and I'm enjoying watching the tree outside my sewing room window.  Every day there's a little more color showing!  While that's whoop-worthy, I bet I can come up with some sewing whoop-whoops, too, and I imagine you've got some too.  So let's get started!
