Piecing Playtime 4, 5, 6 from Virtual Quilter

I like lots of things about today’s designs … but not the colour.

I like the large print used in some of the blocks and the border, and the contrast is OK.

I especially like the dark, light, large print, light, dark combination of strips which make up the border.

Virtual Quilts: Viewing, Studying and Enjoying Them in New Ways from Repro Quilt Lover

If you belong to a quilt guild, visit quilt exhibits, participate in workshops, take classes, or study quilt history, you have likely had an event canceled or postponed. If you are anything like me it’s been a lot more than one. This has left me wondering how I can fulfill my desire to view quilts and, equally important, to socialize and learn from other quilters. I miss my people! How can I get my quilt fix when everything I used to do is canceled or on hold?

Fortunately, I didn’t have to create the opportunities, I just needed ...

Super 7s OP 21, 22 from Virtual Quilter

Very interesting!

Another interesting design.

I would usually say that the second, with the applique, was my favourite of the two, but both these designs are something a bit different to the average quilt designs I cannot pick a favourite.

TNT Logs + 86, 87, 88, 89, 90 from Virtual Quilter

I like it!

Interesting.

A little change, and I like it.

Another little change, and I like it more.

Yet another little change, and I love it!

It is always interesting to see the designs in a group photo when there are minor changes between them. Now I can see them all at once I have changed my mind … if I had to choose one to make I would choose the one on the left in the bottom row, not the last one. Or maybe the first one!

More Log Cabin designs mid week, next week!

Julianne’s Star 3, 4 from Virtual Quilter

One block design, the one in the centre, modified many times.

The quilting design is the same as the pieced block, simply following the unused seam lines.

Silly Sadie 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

I have found that Serendipity is fun, but there are a lot of designs which I haven’t saved during the play times I have had. However, sometimes a design just has to be saved, like the one above.

The second one was much improved by playing with the amount of contrast … and I love how it turned out!

Hi 5s Highlights 3, 4, 5, 6 from Virtual Quilter

Two versions of the same design with a slight change in the placement of the light background.

The one above is interesting.

Love the last!

Nan's Nine Patches 29, 30 from Virtual Quilter

The first design today is a bit busy for my taste, but I do like it!

I love the second one, and I must try to turn those linked star blocks inside out, but I think there may be a problem with the corners!

Vera's Star 11, 12 from Virtual Quilter

One block design used, in parts, for all the pieced blocks and the quilting motif.

Just a few changes … and I must have used a totally different virtual thread for the quilting motif!

Dear, Dear, Dear 36, 37, 38 from Virtual Quilter

Not the best background fabric, but an interesting design.

Like the second one despite the background fabric.

I think I might find some time to change the background fabric in this project file … at least doing a few at a time when I am sharing them.

Elevenses 65, 66 from Virtual Quilter

I love the first design of the day … and of the week, and of the month!

The second is interesting.

Tangled Irish Chain 34, 35, 36 from Virtual Quilter

Single, Double and Triple Irish Chain blocks all mixed up … and I like the results.

Still liking it.

Still liking it even though there are no Double Irish Chain blocks in the last design.

EQ 4s 59, 60 from Virtual Quilter

All pieced again today, but without some of the complexities of yesterday’s pair.

I like the second one because it has room for some quilting to shine.

Autumn Patches OP 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

Colours of Australia … red and sandy soil, with some green starting to grow. Even trees in areas burnt out in the last two months are showing touches of green.

Interesting design.

City Courthouse 96, 97, 98, 99, 100 from Virtual Quilter

Another week flying by, so time for a mid week break .

This project ran out of designs, but a few more have been found to round out the total number of designs to 100.

The designs in this project file have always made me think of a tiled floor in the foyer of a courthouse.

I am undecided which is my favourite for today … the first one, or the one above. I guess that makes you the judge in this courthouse.

More Log Cabin designs next week, so plan for a coffee break when you have a chance to come ...

Red and White Quilted 6, 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

Mmm! Looks like I used two different weight threads to virtually quilt this project file!

The quilting designs are all based on the collection of blocks I have used for the designs, but without the seam lines used to piece the block together. They are also without the background fillers I would use on open spaces, though in these designs there is probably enough quilting to hold the layers together without the need for fillers.

Now let me see if the next design has the same variation in the thread, or perhaps it is the virtual stitching!

I like the ...

EQ 9x9s at Christmas 9, 10 from Virtual Quilter

Christmas leftovers I think need to be used, even though I am pretty sure they will keep until next year.

I love both of these, and they would be suitable for anytime of the year anyway.

EQ and Me at Christmas 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

I like it!

The blocks in this project file are straight out of the Electric Quilt Block library.

I prefer my Christmas decor to be clear and bright red, white and green, but would accept that is was once much righter, but has been loved and used, and so washed, many times and has faded.

The second design for the day lacks some quilting!

So, two things to work on for next Christmas. Add some quilting to this project, and start a new project for those who like a blue and white Christmas.
