I like it! I have never been a fan of quilts made with one block design repeated all over.
I much prefer to break the monotony of stitching up a great pile of identical blocks, and I like seeing the interest just a few different blocks added to the quilt top make.
I love the second design!

I don’t think I would enjoy making up any more than four or five of the pieced blocks in this design, but would be happy to make up to four of each of the five pieced blocks … which just leaves the eight applique blocks.
I like the second design, but if I had to choose one of these two to make up I would make the blocks for the first, and add the applique border from the second.

Two designs from one of my favourite project files today.
Not too sure about the blue … partly because it is not my favourite colour … but I think it would look better with more blues amongst the border scraps.

I much prefer applique to pieced quilts, but I love the design above.
Love the second design too!
Maybe my eyes are telling me that the curved seams are applique!

It was one of those spring days where it was overcast one minute and blazingly bright and sunny the next. Hopefully you can figure out the true color of the quilt eventually if you look at enough pictures!

Wish I could sleep in like that cat! I woke up at 5.30 this morning, got up at 6 because I was sick of laying around doing nothing … except trying to go to sleep!
And just like the cat, I got up and started looking at virtual quilts!

Autumn has arrived down under, along with some dust storms, rain, power failures and cool days in the last week. Keeps life interesting!
The power failure here was a whole afternoon of no sewing, and no gardening as it was raining. I did read quite a bit of a thick book played with quilt designs, and did some sewing after dark to make up for the lost time. Wonder what this week will bring?
Love the second one!

The blocks in this project file are straight out of the Electric Quilt Block library.
I prefer my Christmas decor to be clear and bright red, white and green, but would accept that is was once much righter, but has been loved and used, and so washed, many times and has faded.
The second design for the day lacks some quilting!
So, two things to work on for next Christmas. Add some quilting to this project, and start a new project for those who like a blue and white Christmas.

Like the first offering for today … could be just a general quilt, with just enough of the Christmas colours to be seasonal.
Mind you, in Australia we rarely need a quilt during the Christmas break, which is why I have a Christmas quilt with no wadding!
Change the background colour, add a little more red, and it is a little more like Christmas!
I love this last one!

Some of us are living through autumn, some of us are heading into summer, but I like these series of designs regardless of the season.
