June in the Garden, On the Veranda from From My Carolina Home

Planting pots and my veggie garden the past two weeks was a lot of work. On a cool morning, I got out early to do the heavy work while it was still nice outside. It warmed up fast, though. First up was to pull the weeds in the front flowerbed. Luckily, there weren’t too many, and this was done fairly fast. The snapdragons have started blooming, and I loved the colors coming out. This lavendar pink was so pretty.

June in the Garden from From My Carolina Home

The floral show continues in June with daylilies and more coming along. I am delighted with these snapdragons, so many pretty colors and such a profusion of blooms.

Medium pink above, and the lighter pink below are side by side. The yellow ones behind are coming into bloom too.

Of course, I love the purity of the white ones.

On the veranda, I need to cut this geranium back and root the cuttings, but it is blooming so well I have been reluctant to do this yet.

In another pot, the purple pansies are still showing their happy faces.

May in the Garden from From My Carolina Home

There is a lot going on in the the garden this week, so get ready for a picture heavy post. The flowering season continues and some planting got done, too. I finally got back to finishing off the planting for the veranda pots this week. The impatiens were on sale at the hardware store, and I have been waiting for those to fill the pots in the little side tables. The tops are tile mosaics, so they need pots in the bottom to keep them from toppling over.
