Finished: Begonia from Fabric Engineer

Begonia is finished!  I know this isn't a great picture, but it's the best one I have that shows the whole quilt.

I got the pattern from the Seattle MQG and I loved it.  This is absolutely a pattern I'd make again, and I don't say that very often.  I really like how it turned out and I enjoyed the medallion style of the quilt.  If I had to do it again though I might choose a white background; the light grey didn't quite do it for me.  The Kona colors I used include: quicksilver ...

So many projects on the go! from Quilting & Learning

Welcome! Have you ever felt like your quilting life is out of control? Since finishing Version 2.0 I have been working on more and more projects. Some are classes, others are my usual TextileArtist.org workshops and then there are those squirrel projects from who knows where.

February Renter Retrospective from Quilted Joy

Can you believe that another month has passed us by? Where is the year going so fast? It is time for a renter retrospective. We got to see a lot of lovely quilts this month. I love the creativity of our renters. They always surprise me with what they bring in. There are so many great patterns out there, and then there are an infinite number of fabric combinations to do with them. It never gets old.

Natalia Bonner's 'A Year of Stars' from The Quilt Yarn

Progress

Finished all of the framework for the sashings and borders. I do not have a huge curve ruler (Natalia used a huge curve for her quilt), hence I used my Pro Echo #12 ruler to put the scallops into the border. That was challenging enough! In the end I just made it fit. Not ideal as the curves were slightly different all over, but in the end I doubted that this would feature much. Having done this, I  realised that my curves were too shallow for putting feathers in there, so I had to come up with something else ...

Pebble Creek Logo from Pebble Creek Arts

I decided it was time to finally finish all of my works in progress. Many of them aren’t what I would choose to paint today. Many of them have problems with the composition. However, I started them and I should have finished them at that time. I will never learn anything if I don’t finish most of my pieces. I had 21 wip’s before I finished this one. Now I am down to 20.

I decided to work smallest to largest. It is my hope that I will make some improvements in my work before I get ...

Hello 50th Birthday from Scraps of My Life

Hello there!

Another recent card make to share today, this time for a friend who turns 50 this year (and for once, I'm not late with this card - whoot!).

Technically this is a scrap-lift of a card design a did a few years ago but I loved the way it worked out so just went with it.  I used up some older October Afternoon Cakewalk papers and paired them with some Pebbles chipboards and stickers from the From Me to You and a Valentine's collections.  How adorable is that little bird?  And of course a 50th birthday needs ...
