Bye Bye 2023, Hello 2024! from Sew Preeti Quilts

It is January 1, 2024. First day of the new year - one day to reflect and introspect before the onslaught of work and responsibilities.

A review post is always tricky. What do I include? What do I leave out? And how do I say it? Should it be just quilting? But my feelings are so entangled with the threads of my quilts. Can you really keep your work and thoughts in water-tight compartments?

Unable to separate my feelings from my work

I will try to focus on my quilts and if my feelings seep in so be it. Here are ...

Making Masks from Becca's Crazy Projects

We recently attended a game convention that required masks for all attendees.
I wanted some new masks made with fabric that fit the theme.
The cut away triangles are so cute!
I made a dozen new masks. Not that we needed that many for a weekend event. Dice, beholders, potions, dragons, gelatinous cubes, and rainbow vomiting cats. Fabrics from Spoonflower.
Then we popped them into the wash so they would be clean for our convention.

I wrote my own tutorial for these masks. You can find out more about the design on my post How I Mask. Stay safe out ...

TRANSPARENDO - The Transparency Sampler Quilt from easypatchwork

Hi everyone! I am so excited to share with you something I have been working on for the past FIVE MONTHS! I would like to introduce you to Transparendo - The Transparency Sampler Quilt, 12 Modern Blocks to Create a Masterpiece. This is my first official book with IBSNs. I can't believe it. I finally wrote a book and published it myself. I learned so much in the process too such as creating my own publishing company, being receptive to feedback, learning how to design cover artwork, and marketing my book. Are you curious?

Would you like to see the ...

Meeting with friends quilts. Pattern release from A Beautiful Day - O Zi Frumoasa

I am so glad that after long time, I finally have great news: I just released two quilt patterns!

In the late fall of 2021, while the rules imposed in the Pandemic kept us far from each other, I made some patterns for some mini quilts, good to use as coasters. For one of them I wrote the pattern because I realized that it is not only beginner friendly, but also you need only an hour or two to make it. I chose squares, rectangles and half square triangles to play with.

I have a special treat for you, so keep reading until the end. I went a little deep in thought for my block this month. Dayna Pack from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've had these pieces of a Dayna Pack on my cutting table forever. I was trying to tidy a little and decided to just get sewing. This is the second time I've made this bag. You can see that bag in this post from February 2021.
The Dayna Pack pattern is easy to follow and the resulting bag is perfect for a small wallet, some hand sanitizer, and my regular-sized smart phone. A great project. The pattern also includes instructions on how to downsize this for kids.

Long Overdue Finish from Heart Desire Creations

Several years ago – I have no idea how many, maybe six or eight? It all started with a pack of 5 inch squares. I pulled fabrics from my stash that went with the charm pack, including white and dragonfly fabric by Kathy Davis. With a vague plan, I began sewing half square triangles and trying different layouts on the design wall. Finally, landing on a layout I liked, I knew it needed something else. I came up with the corner layouts. I knew then that I was in love with this design!

The quilt definitely needed something else. I found ...
