If you need to raise your faith in Americans you must go read the comments right HERE! Thank you all so much! I cannot watch the news any more since I feel like there is so much negativity and divisiveness. I think that is what "they" (who the heck is they, anyway??) want. We are more unified than separate! And that is a wonderful thing! Thank you all for taking the time to leave a comment on my blog or at the Humble Quilts facebook group that you can find HERE.

read moreSome would say that a quilt achieves its highest purpose in life when it is gifted to another. When a quilt is created and awarded to a service member or veteran, it says, “Someone cares. Thank you for your service.” The Quilts of Valor Foundation has made it their mission to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor (QOV). We’ve created a FREE quilt pattern, William’s Honor, that you can use to make one of these patriotic quilts.

At some point, at a workshop, these blocks will be incorporated into a quilt for a vet.

Time, for most of us, tends to erode the harshness of the edges to where they seem a bit softer than they did at the time we were going through it.
Work was ...
Good morning! It’s Cindy reporting in from Ohio AND it’s Veterans Day!
Last Thursday, my quilt guild hosted a luncheon to honor 63 Veterans in our local area. For the past year, my guild worked diligently to make 21 Quilts of Honor and we presented them to 21 grateful Veterans at this lovely luncheon ceremony.
It was very humbling to have FOUR World War II Veterans join us and this quilt sums up what many of us were thinking. The quilt below was presented to a Vietnam Veteran who was a Prisoner of War (POW) for over two ...
