Elk Calf...Video from May Your Bobbin Always Be Full

He's been around so long he finally has a name...

FELIX

This super cute elk calf has been living

with our cattle for a couple of months now.

Each morning he follows the hay truck

through the field

as the Cowboy flakes off hay to the cows.

I captured a video of FELIX yesterday...

Enjoy the Video:

Bring On The Rain (Sutherlin, OR) from QuiltinCats

We woke up to rain last weekend.  Such a welcome sound after a dry summer.  We had plenty of beautiful days to sit outside and enjoy our new home base, but everyone was hoping for rain...lots of rain with no lightning and we got it for a couple of days!  Yes!  Now we just need about a month or two more of this gentle rain.
We started adding a few things to our site.  I bought some half barrels after receiving plants from our neighbors.  Wasn't that sweet of them?  I had planned on waiting next year since ...

Forever Young from From the Strawberry Patch...

She was my absolute favorite children's author, the news of her passing hurt my heart; she lived to almost 105! And yet, her characters: Ramona, Beezus, Henry Huggins and his dog, Ribsy, will remain forever young and immortal. Some of my favorite memories are of reading through these books with my children when they were young, and now with my grandchildren. Ralph S. Mouse was one that interested

On The Road Again 2021 Style (Bullards State Park, OR) from QuiltinCats

We are traveling again now that we have finished with our medical appointments.  Since we are self-contained and do not need to interact with a lot of people while traveling, we decided it was safe enough to get back on the road to see something different.
So happy to be back on the Oregon coast. We are starting at the southernmost end of the Oregon coast and will work our way north to Seaside before going back south again.

The park was busy, but the beaches were not too bad.  Social distancing was easy ...

It's Beginning to Feel Like Home (Sutherlin, OR) from QuiltinCats

We are back in Timber Valley Skp (Escapees Co-Op) Park in Sutherlin, OR and I am surprised to admit that it is beginning to feel like home.  We are #14 on the waiting list for a Timber Valley site.  We were #80 in August of last year, so we have moved up faster than planned.  We should have a site by this time next year at the latest, giving us a place to stay - a home base.   We will still travel in the future, but have our own site here as a home base.  After 11 years of wandering around ...

Oregon Inspiration from Joy in Cloth

Spring is a beautiful time in Oregon. In addition to all the blooms in people's yards the farmlands come to life as well. A common sight here are fields full of plants being grown specifically for seed. Of course, in order to have seed there must be flowers. Sometimes there are huge swaths of color covering many acres. One of those seed crops is the mustard plant which looks somewhat like the color of processed mustard. It is hard to take your eyes off these fields when lit up by the sun. I had to make a  piece like ...
