I can keep a secret from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was an interesting day! You know how it is when one small thing leads to something completely different, and I found something that had been on the MIA list!!!!

What happened? M had asked me to forward some DVDs and her Christmas ornaments. I found all three DVD cases, but only two had a disc inside. I checked the buffet in my office to see if any of her DVDs were in there. I also checked a box of CDs on the table, and that's where I found the CD player I had wanted several months ago. Putting ...

When decluttering becomes an obsession from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The decluttering journey continues.

I grabbed that basket of paper and took it to the kitchen counter. I love that kitchen space for my decluttering journey. It's big, the height is perfect, and there's loads of room. My kitchen counters are ALWAYS clear. There are a few minor things that I may do away with eventually, but for the moment, I'm not worrying about them. Let's say that my kitchen counters were NOT always clear. I remember days when there were a few free spots on our kitchen table to eat. The rest was piled with ...

Decluttering from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's "comforting" to know I'm not the only one hiding junk in boxes and bags! Good luck to everyone who is sorting and decluttering. It's TIME to open those boxes and bags and deal with them!

I will put that statement here again: The things you value are only valuable while you are alive. When you are gone, no one will give the same value to the items. So - if the item is valuable to you while you are alive, you should be USING it!

If the item is no longer of value to you, perhaps someone ...

Health Check from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I have so many pictures to post -- there just isn't enough time. I'm teaching an in-person class today, and everything is prepped and ready to load into the car! Yeah!

I still have pictures from the weekend to post, and I don't think I'll get them all done today. Let's see what happens.

Maryke, Carol, and I did some swapping; here is part of what we exchanged. I loaned Maryke some templates, and I got two books in return. The first one, I've put with my Mixed Media projects for the year, and I ...

Vitual Retreat from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was another successful Virtual Retreat! So many people stopped in to say hello. We had people from Germany, the US, Western Canada, and all over Ontario! So nice to see a few new faces join us and to see the regulars! I left at 9 PM both nights, and they were still sewing and chatting!

I didn't end up taking a nap yesterday, but I did take a long walk, and I slept like a log last night. I'm feeling good this morning, and all fired up to get to spin class.

Well, I don't have ...

Some assembly required from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You know that I've not been happy with my desk set up for the computer. When I didn't spend much time here, it didn't really matter if the desk was messy. But now that I have more and more work on the computer, it's become an issue. There is zero room on the right of the mouse to work, and the left side was covered with stuff that needed to be doneā€”just a disaster.

My messy desk

I had tidied up the little shelf that's behind the monitor, and all the cords and such ...

Advice from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm totally fascinated by all things sociological and there is plenty of that going around at this moment in time. Only bad news sells and there's definitely plenty of that going around. And there's plenty of advice to be had everywhere. While those three statements are somewhat random, they are definitely connected.

Like almost everything, there are fixes for the symptoms of the issues that do nothing to address the root cause or that make things seem worse than they really are. I think we're too much about short term thinking - get rid of the symptoms ...
