This month I’m featuring another of my quilts that I just love for this season: Scrappy Wild Geese.
As the real geese around here head south for the winter, and the temps start to cool down, it’s a good time to fit in some scrap quilt stitching, isn’t it?
This pattern is great for using up some fall-colored scraps. It goes pretty quickly using the no-waste Flying Geese method, and makes large blocks.
My original version, which is in the pattern, does not have sashing:
But I made it again and added some sashing, and it’s ...
read moreIt’s time for the big reveal! The final installment for last year’s mystery quilt through Sew Sweet Quilt Shop has been out since August 15th, time for everyone involved in the mystery to figure out what their quilt is supposed to look like by now.
So today, Sew Sweet is showing their reveal, and I’m also showing it here on my blog. I’m so excited for you all to finally get to see it!
The quilt is called Country Backroads. The shop chose red, white, and blue for their kits, and I think it turned out ...
read moreSince we’re heading into fall (my favorite season), I’m featuring a nice fall table runner pattern this month.
“Pomegranates and Pineapples” is an 18″ x 38″ pattern that you can make using a charm pack and a little bit of background, or raid your fall scraps and put one together.
The piecing is super simple, leaving you plenty of time to do the elegant appliqué that runs down each side.
Pineapples symbolize hospitality, and pomegranates symbolize love, so this table runner sets a very special and welcoming table. And there are plenty of oak leaves and acorns thrown ...
read moreThis month I’m featuring a quilt with colors that match the weather we’re having! I love this sunny palette, and I keep going back to it again and again — this color combo is just so cheery!
Anyway, this month’s featured pattern is AmpersAnd:
It’s available in print and PDF formats in my Etsy shop for only $5 during the month of August.
There is also an alternate free pattern available that you can appliqué on top of the quilt instead of the ampersand and make it a Halloween quilt. This spider pattern is available here: Spiderapplique ...

Fireworks, picnics, baseball, excessive heat!
This month I’m featuring both of my patriotic small-project patterns.
Easy Strips and Stars:
This is a reversible, quilt-as-you-go table runner pattern. You can make it patriotic on one side, Christmas on the other, or any combination of holidays/occasions you wish!
If you don’t want to make your own, I also have listed the shop sample for sale, but there’s only one, so don’t delay on that decision!
The other pattern I’m featuring is Liberty Stars:
This pattern makes TWO buntings in one fell swoop ...

I’m featuring my Aweigh quilted pillow pattern.
The pattern is for a 14″ pillow, but the anchor design is actually quite versatile —
- • you can hand quilt the design, as I did for my pillow
- • you can machine quilt the design
- • you can reduce or enlarge the design to make it whatever size you need
- • you can make a wall quilt instead of a ...
What better pattern to feature in May than my Mayflowers pattern??
I designed this quilt to teach at the 2016 Arrow Rock Quilt Camp, and guess what’s going on the first week of this month, as well? The Arrow Rock Quilt Camp, once again! I’m not teaching there any more, but I thought it was a good time to feature this pattern.
It’s an easy appliqué pattern, surrounded on two sides by patchwork:
I made two different color options for my samples.
You can put your appliqué on a plain background, or a pieced background. And there ...
read moreMeet my newest pattern — Take Two!
It’s a cute little movie-themed throw quilt that you can wrap up in to watch your favorite movies!
Take Two features 20 scrappy sampler star blocks set into a movie-reel-type sashing, and measures ~58″ x 70″. (I say approximately because it all depends on how you trim it as you make it, which is up to the individual maker.)
You can choose to appliqué the clapper on, or leave it off. You could also put someone’s name there instead of the words shown!
Or instructions are also included for an abbreviated version ...
read moreThis month I’m really wishing for spring to make it’s appearance for real. The grass is starting to green up, and I do have some daffodils blooming, so I really need the wind to stop blowing so hard, and a couple weeks without any rain. Soon the temperatures will rise enough that we can shut off the furnace and the goats will start shedding their winter fur.
And it’ll be time for flowers! Which I cannot grow since I don’t have a green thumb at all. The daffodils and lilacs are on their own, which is ...
read moreSince I’m so ready for winter to be over with, I’m featuring my Springtime in Arrow Rock pattern for March, with all its bright, cheery colors!
This quilt was designed for the Arrow Rock Quilt Camp, and they came up with some wonderful quilts from it.
You get patterns for 17 different flower blocks, so not only can you make the quilt as shown, but the other possibilities are endless!
The quilt shown is 60″ x 80″, and you can read all about it HERE.
The pattern is now only available in PDF version, and it’s on ...
read moreFebruary’s featured pattern is “What the Hex?”
This pattern uses hexagons to teach you how to do set-in seams, so it’s a great one to learn on, and the possibilities for hexie arrangement are basically endless.
I designed this back when honeycombs were a thing from Moda. They’re no longer a thing from Moda these days, but the template is included in the pattern, so no worries. And rather than buying a pre-cut pack of hexies, you can cut them from your stash, which would actually be even better!
OK, now I want to go start another ...
