2020 REVIEW - A Basket Making Adventure

2020 was a year for new online ventures and experiences. I joined many who transitioned more personal and work activities to online platforms.

It was exciting to start a new venture with an Amazon Handmade shop!  Living Water Quilter, is not just quilts!   lol  There are baskets made with cotton and nylon rope accented with Kraft-tex, batik fabric and/or beads.

Kraft-tex is one of my favorite accents. I like to use the pre-washed designer colors.  The best value are the rolls available by CT Publishing.

Want to have a play day with Kraft-tex and Accuquilt? Try making a batch of calendar covers for family and friends. 

For this new batch, I used AccuQuilt easy die cutter, the AccuQuilt GO!

Yes, there are many reasons to be thankful. I am thankful for products like Kraft-tex that feed my NEED as a maker.

How many times have you charged your phone with a wall outlet only to have the phone resting on the floor?

Kraft-tex and Braided Rope

Try Something New with Kraft-tex

 I finally made time to have some fun with ink stamping and heat embossing. I’ve had a desire to learn how to use stamps and embossing powder for several months now.

I’ve been gathering ink pads, stamps, stencils, powders and accessories for 8 months. During that time I have been watching video tutorials too.

First, I practiced on white card stock. The leaf stamp is inked with Ranger archival inks: Jet Black, Paradise Teal and Sepia.  Once the paper is stamped with ink, clear embossing powder is spread over the wet ink.  Next ...

Basket of Hope

I am on a basket making frenzy!  Why?  I will submit an application and hope to be accepted in a local outdoor art festival this summer. The artist application requires a photo of your booth/table set-up. So, it means I need to make baskets for the photo as well as for the festival.( Assuming I am accepted.)
