paper fabric from Charm About You

Two pouches made from paper fabric, an embroidery patch, scissors and a spool of thread

Have you tried sewing with paper fabric? Also known as washable paper / vegan leather. It is often used for labels on denim and it is really fun to sew with. I have made a whole host of projects and tried a new to me brand of paper fabric that I'm going to share with you today. I also have another product to share, that allowed me to use some vintage embroidery transfers to create cute decorations. Heavily inspired by stationery these simple, modern makes are perfect to give as gifts... it might be is a long post, so grab ...

2020 REVIEW - A Basket Making Adventure

2020 was a year for new online ventures and experiences. I joined many who transitioned more personal and work activities to online platforms.

It was exciting to start a new venture with an Amazon Handmade shop!  Living Water Quilter, is not just quilts!   lol  There are baskets made with cotton and nylon rope accented with Kraft-tex, batik fabric and/or beads.

Kraft-tex is one of my favorite accents. I like to use the pre-washed designer colors.  The best value are the rolls available by CT Publishing.

Baskets are functional, fun and add color and ...

2021 Kraft-tex Calendar Covers

Want to have a play day with Kraft-tex and Accuquilt? Try making a batch of calendar covers for family and friends.

For this new batch, I used AccuQuilt easy die cutter, the AccuQuilt GO!

NOTE: The kraft-tex for this project was provided by CT Publishing.  As an affiliate of CT Publishing and AccuQuilt this post includes Compensated links. They help you get to what you need and cost you nothing.

First, cut appliques and windows with the heart, star and cat dies. Second, purchase a plastic grocery bag at the Dollar Tree.

I love Kraft-tex pre-washed ...

Yes, there are many reasons to be thankful. I am thankful for products like Kraft-tex that feed my NEED as a maker.

If you have been following me for a while you know how I like to design with kraft-tex, fabric and cotton rope.

I am a CT Publishing Kraft-tex ambassador. Each month I make a project with Kraft-tex provided by CT Publishing.

Portable Phone Charging Station How many times have you charged... from Living Water Quilter

Portable Phone Charging Station

How many times have you charged your phone with a wall outlet only to have the phone resting on the floor?

When I was traveling, I often saw this scenario at airports. Times have changed and the universal need for a charging holder maybe waning.  Nevertheless, I wanted to make a portable charging station for my phone.

NOTE: As a Kraft-tex Ambassador, I received Kraft-tex from CT Publishing to make this project. I am also an affiliate and receive a small commission when a link on this website is clicked and a purchase is made. It ...

Kraft-tex and Braided Rope

Please join me and watch the process of making a tray.  The tray is made with braided cotton rope and strips of Kraft-tex. Kraft-tex, a vegan leather,  is a rugged paper that sews like fabric, can be washed, dyed and more.  I have compiled a list of supplies I use for rope basket making on the Living Water Quilter Amazon  Page.

NOTE: As a Kraft-tex Ambassador, C&T Publishing supplied the Kraft-tex for this project.  Marsala is the Ambassador July color of the month.  I am also an Amazon affiliate and receive a small sum ...

Try Something New with Kraft-tex I finally made time to have... from Living Water Quilter

Try Something New with Kraft-tex

I finally made time to have some fun with ink stamping and heat embossing. I’ve had a desire to learn how to use stamps and embossing powder for several months now.

image

I’ve been gathering ink pads, stamps, stencils, powders and accessories for 8 months. During that time I have been watching video tutorials too.

image

First, I practiced on white card stock. The leaf stamp is inked with Ranger archival inks: Jet Black, Paradise Teal and Sepia.  Once the paper is stamped with ink, clear embossing powder is spread over the wet ink.  Next ...

a bookmark with purpose from Charm About You

Having already made my mum a similar bookmark, I decided to make one for myself. Given the current situation and the fact we are staying at home, it has made me focus on small things but also the bigger picture. I'm grateful for so much right now and have found it helpful to think about what I would like to achieve in this time. Not to 'hustle' or have unrealistic expectations of a million things I could do or learn or create. Rather what is important, can I prioritise the things I put off but really want to do ...

Basket of HopeI am on a basket making frenzy!  Why?  I will... from Living Water Quilter

Basket of Hope

I am on a basket making frenzy!  Why?  I will submit an application and hope to be accepted in a local outdoor art festival this summer. The artist application requires a photo of your booth/table set-up. So, it means I need to make baskets for the photo as well as for the festival.( Assuming I am accepted.)

image

I try to design/make a few baskets each week to meet my goals.  Since my schedule is over-the-top full, I often double or triple dip projects. One project will cover more than one commitment.  This time I decided ...
