Progress in the kitchen from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was an exciting day for some people in my life.

A friend and her daughter arrived in Santiago after walking the Camino. Her boyfriend and she started out a month ago. He could only get a couple of weeks off, so he walked partway. Then she continued on her own and was lucky enough to have her daughter join her about 200 km from the end. They finished yesterday!! I wonder what they did this morning? Oh, sleep in!

Another friend and his son have finished their European bike tour. They camped along the way, so they had to ...

The SPICE of life! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm going to have to put myself in time-out. Well, not in the gazebo, for sure! It's the gazebo that's the problem. I made my tea and went out in the morning, but it was hard to come back in. The temperature is glorious, and it's so relaxing. I managed at some point to pull myself back into the house, but barely!

Gosh—if I want to be outside, I should be at the store getting bags of mulch and working on spreading it. I think we might have some rain in the forecast today, which ...

Along The Way... from From the Strawberry Patch...

I've learned a LOT along the way while the wrist is healing. Time doesn't slow down, or stop, when one's casted. Nope, it's business as usual. Augie turned eleven months old on Wednesday! He's my best snuggle buddy and resting companion when I need that. I can tell when I've done enough for the day and it's time to lay low. Fine motor skills are slowly returning and strengthening, (I can pinch

Upstairs, Downstairs from From the Strawberry Patch...

With apologies to the British drama series of the same name, Mr. G and I have  been living a very "Upstairs, Downstairs" existence over the past three + months. For the most part I am in the sewing room during the day, or in the kitchen; while he's been sequestered in his basement-level woodworking shop. Unlike the series, he's not down there because he's servant or staff but rather because he's

Sometimes I Bake from Becca's Crazy Projects

I subscribe to a mailing list maintained by My Kitchen Wand. They do amazing work and often share recipes. Last week they shared their recipe for Chai Spice Overnight Raisin Bread
Sunday night I started my bread. I didn't have everything on the list so I did some improvising. I didn't have enough raisins but I did have dry cranberries. I also added some pecans since I didn't have a cup of dried fruits. This is what it looked like Monday morning. Bubbly and ready for the next step.
Here it is, fresh from the oven and ...

Curtain Rod Connectors Part 1 – Give The Appearance Of One Continuous Rod from Nikki, In Stitches

Part 1 of 2 in my series of posts about how you can use curtain rod connectors to enhance your basic curtain rod. Today, we use them to create the look of one continuous rod using a few connectors and supports!

Curtains and curtain rods are a great way to easily make big changes in a room. My husband is always teasing me about how much thought I put into their placement, length, etc., but it does make a difference! They can make your ceiling feel higher, change the focal point of a room, and make a space feel much ...

Kitchen Stitchin from Stitchin at Home

Another fun blog hop from Carla of Creatin in the Sticks, this one in the kitchen.
We were to create something inspired by the kitchen. It could be pot holders, tea towels, coasters, placemats, table runners, mug rugs, or even a toaster cover. It was our interpretation of a kitchen project. Anything kitchen.

I have three quick kitchen projects to show you today. First up an apron for my granddaughter who is finding a love for baking and cooking.

which first baking or cooking or maybe a little of both

I'm still shopping my stash and didn't have ...

Autumn Jubilee – Kitchen Wreath from From My Carolina Home

Autumn Jubilee continues today with a project featuring a new idea for your jelly roll strip leftovers.  We’ll make an Autumn Kitchen Wreath!  Of course, you could use Christmas fabric jelly roll strips for a Christmas theme wreath, or really any color scheme you like.  Use your kitchen colors for an everyday addition to your decor.  I got the idea for this when I found several of these straw wreaths at the thrift store.  Normally, I don’t like to use these as they drop bits of straw all over the place.  But, with a bit of crafting, they ...
