Christmas Wishes from Val's Quilting Studio

Aside form Christmas cookies, I think the lights are my very favorite thing about the holidays!

This year we took the grands to our two favorite light shows.

The first was the Scentsy headquarters just a 30 minute drive away:

They have the longest lighted tunnel any of us have ever seen.

Poppi actually got the boys to slow down long enough to take a picture with Meme as they enjoyed running, and running, and running through the lite tunnel over and over.

Our second favorite place was in another nearby town where the whole center of town is lite ...

It's Birthday Quilt Time! from Val's Quilting Studio

Time sure flies when we have Grand kiddos doesn't it!

Our oldest grand guy continues to request a birthday quilt each year. This year he actually picked out all the fabrics for this one. These are in honor of the fact that we've watched every dolphin movie made for kids and have made a pinky shake that someday we are going to swim with the dolphins to celebrate our birthdays!

I found the perfect dolphin pantograph.

His choice to use a minky backing that looks like "water" makes this one an especially cozy lap quilt.

Quilty Smiles!!! from Val's Quilting Studio

I always cherish that moment the boys first see their new quilt!

Birthday Quilts Ready to Gift! from Val's Quilting Studio

Not one...

...but two birthday quilts.

These were quick and easy strip quilts that happily filled our grand guys request of a

birthday quilt in fabric of his favorite football team. I used a soft flannel backing and

made them to be twin and crib size to fit the beds at their dad's house.

Hard to believe these two are going to be four and eight!

These are their traditional quilt labels and I finished the quilts with a fun football pantograph.

More quilty hugs...

...for the two that call me Meme.

Busy Binding....with a little help! from Val's Quilting Studio

My grand guys birthday quilts are almost done!

I'm busy sewing the binding...and Jackson seems to think these are for him?

"Meme! You Haven't Made Me a Quilt!" from Val's Quilting Studio

Oh man! Nothing like getting scolded by your own grandson!

These two guys made their annual start of summer visit and our oldest grand guy took to reminding me I HAVEN'T made him a "6 or 7 and soon to be 8" birthday quilt! Uh oh!

We searched through my blog and I had to admit, he was right!

Now of course, I'm completely flattered that he remembers and WANTS another birthday quilt.
