Decluttering the office from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You are going to be so proud of me! I'm so proud of me!

OK -- before being proud, I'm pretty embarrassed, and I think I should preface what I'm about to share with you with this statement:

My name is Elaine, and I am a hoarder!

This all started because we were pulling samples for Quilt Canada, and one of my colleagues always has labels on all her samples. I have to blame someone, and she gets the blame today! Although this blame is a POSITIVE thing. She uses laminated business cards. So the question was, did ...

The long way home! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm home!

It was a long journey home! And while I appreciate help when packing up, I really don't need it or want it. I always feel RUSHED, and I shouldn't, but I do! But I got the luggage packed, and then the question was -- how much does that suitcase weigh? I knew I would be borderline as I had left some room for the samples I needed to pick up in Montreal, but when I weighed the case, it was just over 50 lbs, and that won't do.

I switched a couple of things around ...

It's all about the SNOW! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH MY GOSH - I read the comments and HAD to take a picture. Tammy suggested I get some post-it notes for my new notebook.

Ah --- I don't think that's necessary since I have an ENTIRE drawer of them in my desk. Oops -- how did that happen? I never use the darn things, but I should get out one of those small arrow packs and use them for my notebook! I also have BIG plans for that notebook, but I'm not ready to share them.

A drawer of Post-it notes

Thanks, Tammy, for the suggestion, but I'm ...

The snow saga continues from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I PROMISE this is the last day I talk about the snow. It's just that the saga is so ridiculous that I can't help but laugh. What happened yesterday is so silly and proves that grown men have infantile behavior. And that's all I'll say about that.

So here's what I found in the morning when I got up. Apparently, the backhoe came back in the night. Usually, the BEEP BEEP BEEP wakes me up, but I must have been tired -- I heard nothing. So imagine my surprise when I looked out the window to ...

Making JOURNALS from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

And so another day at the retreat is over. Sadly, the end of the week is coming, and I'm not even looking forward to going home! We are an amazing group, and they are great to hang around with. OH -- wait -- we had one incident where someone (not going to mention any names) closed the door to the sewing room, which is an add-on to the house. Now in these frigid temperatures, that room became like an icebox overnight, and it took a long time to warm up. So we got that problem resolved, and it won't happen ...

Positive Energy ~ from Marty's Fiber Musings

What prompted this post from the past?   A post from March two years ago -  Positive Energy.  Oh, the joy of ..... rethinking the possibilities and wondering 'what if?'

While my heart wasn't in it, I felt compelled to join in with a group of quilters working up a retreat for next week.   Now that the retreat form is completed and the check is written and all is delivered to the retreat caretaker....I'm super excited and looking forward.

Something I read this morning - "look not down and back , but up and out."  From the book Listen To Me.

When ...

A progress report from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm happy to report that loads of progress happened yesterday. I'm not sure why yesterday was different from other days, but that's OK - I took advantage of the situation.

It started off with Ronda coming over to do some embroidery. Not because she needed an embroidery machine, but she needed a specific hoop size. I say call up the shop and order one of each Please!!  You never seem to have the right hoop unless you have them all. I swear she bought that embroidery machine just to do sports logos. She's been having a blast ...

The art of journaling from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree at our house. I've probably said this before, but we've likely all forgotten! My Mom has written a diary for years. And I bet she still has them from when she was a kid. Now that I think of it, she probably doesn't as I doubt they would have had access to the paper to write one. But when she got married, I think that's when she started. You know - that's a good question to ask her next time I chat with her and where ...

The Old Journals, Read ’em, Toss ’em, Enjoy ’em. from Adele Mogavero

I’ve mentioned that I journal, a Lot. On average, I go through one notebook a month. If I didn’t go through them from time to time and toss them out, my children would be cursing me when I’m no longer here on earth! We don’t ....
