Decluttering from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's "comforting" to know I'm not the only one hiding junk in boxes and bags! Good luck to everyone who is sorting and decluttering. It's TIME to open those boxes and bags and deal with them!

I will put that statement here again: The things you value are only valuable while you are alive. When you are gone, no one will give the same value to the items. So - if the item is valuable to you while you are alive, you should be USING it!

If the item is no longer of value to you, perhaps someone ...

Class Day....What Fun! from Quilting My Way

Today I was doing the usual in the morning. Around 11 am Ron was out walking. I ran out to meet up with him. He thought I was not going to walk today. Told him that was tomorrow. So, we walked. Then came in the house and got ready for my Brazilian embroidery class with Loretta Holtzburger.

First things first. We had to put a stem stitch on so that we could work with the flower. This is done with colonial knots. I was able to get that much done. I have about 1/4 of it done. I also ...

Another Day At Home from Quilting My Way

This week is working out for me....or not. I decided to enjoy the day. Patrick went golfing and I slept in a little. After I got up, did the usual. Then at 11 am I headed out the door to meet with Ron. We walked the loops. It takes us about an hour to do the walking. I can do it in about 35 mins when it's just me. I'm okay with that. My hip doesn't like it sometimes, but he feels better after.

I received my monthly beads today. I will have to work on ...

It's A Tuesday.....I'm Getting Back To Normal from Quilting My Way

This morning we slept in. Then I got my exercise in and Ron called. He said it was going to rain around noon and wanted to go early before that. We decided on 10 am instead of 11 am. I was okay with that. We met up with Judy and chatted on the way back this direction. She only loops once.

Afterwards I came back in and did my 5 mins on my stomach.

Of course Sophie wanted her attention. This is the first time she climbed up on my back. She usually give me crap while I'm doing ...

Starting A New Week from Quilting My Way

This week is going to be a little quieter than usual. I started out with my exercises and then headed to the Grange to meet for Brazilian embroidery. I took 3 boxes full of stuff for the garage sale they have at the grange this weekend. We went through some of it and pre-priced them. We need some stickers to mark them with.

I really wasn't in the mood to do any embroidery. We did have a new person show up and Sandy V came from Ocean Shores. Sandy worked with the new gal. While Cindy and I went ...

A Nothing Day! from Quilting My Way

Today is Sunday. A day that I didn't feel like doing anything. Not that I didn't want to do anything but a day where I couldn't make up my mind! I wanted to bead, then I wanted to do cross stitch and then I wanted to work on a puzzle. I knew I should go downstairs and work on a quilt top, but just wasn't there.

So my day started out with cleaning up. Got the litter box done and then I worked on the kitchen. Once all that was done then I got laundry going ...

Interesting Day At Our Meeting from Quilting My Way

This morning as I was leaving for our Brazilian embroidery meeting, I received a text that the grange took over our tables. I told her I was on the way. I wanted to find out why I wasn't told they would be there. Alice was awesome, told me to take our table and tell everyone to leave us be. There was only Cindy and I today, so it wasn't all that big a deal. They were getting ready for a garage sale this weekend. We watched and chatted with a few of the helpers. Around noon, Cindy decided ...

Framing and Playing! from Quilting My Way

This morning I slept in and loved it. Patrick slept a little longer than me. lol

I played games. Once I did my exercises I took a walk around the golf course housing area. I said I would and it did. Then I worked on my jigsaw puzzle.

Took a break and worked on framing my work.

I like the mat we ordered. Patrick has a good eye for the colors. I really do like the way this came out. So, I was stitching the picture to the back. Then we were able to get it framed. To my surprise ...

Hello Friday from Quilting My Way

This morning we slept in. OR at least tried. The phone rang. I got up and Patrick went back to sleep.

I didn't go to moms for quilting. I just didn't want to be around that many quilters. We decided to go to the movies instead. We left around 11:30 am. Had a few stops to hit. First was the church to collect a quilt. Then off to Rite Aid. Gave Phil a big hug when I swung by his place (not far from Rite Aid). Last stop was the movie theater. We walked around the mall ...

Ho Hum..... from Quilting My Way

Again, couldn't figure a title to this blog. I try not to repeat, but I think lately I have been repeating myself. At least that's what it feels like. After about 10 years of doing this, you would think I could get creative and figure it out....yep, NOPE.

Today was nice. I got laundry going. Then Val came over to check on different fabrics for her top. I helped her out and she was happy when she left. Patrick left just before her to go golfing. I was glad to see him going again. He's still ...

Spent Lunch With Mom from Quilting My Way

This morning was nice. We didn't have to go anywhere. I did but later in the day. So, I decided to spend lunch time with mom. My physical therapy was at 1 pm. So, I stopped off at Subway and ordered a sandwich. I had asked Nancy to join us but she was busy today.

I arrived around 10:30 am after picking up the sandwich. We sat and worked on our own stuff. We also watched Hemus McBeth on TV. I'm not sure if that was on Acorn or Netflix. I will try and see if he ...

Another Presentation Day - Now Every Other Week from Quilting My Way

This morning I was playing games till it was time to leave. I had to go to Centralia to meet up with Sandy. She had a "surprise" for me. I arrived around 10:45 am at her work. She came around and gave me "an early Birthday gift." It's the book "the left-handed embroiderer's companion" by Yvette Stanton. It's a cool book! I love it! She wanted to give it to me before I ordered it myself. As we all know, I'm left handed.

Then I headed to the coffee shop to get coffee for Debbie ...

One Heck Of A Busy Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and out the door. My stops were Bank then moms. I picked up 3 quilts from her that needs to have labels on it. Then it was off to Connie's. I was there a little longer than I expected. I gave her my top and a few other things I had for her. After about a half hour there, I was off to McD's for tea and coffee. Once I was out of there it was back on track to the grange.

We had our meeting today. I have told Kathleen about our ...

Working On My Wings from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up early again. Hate the sun when it comes through my window. I even tried to use my blinders but that didn't work either. So, I got up.

Played games this morning. Got laundry going as well. I folded more clothes and kept busy with my puzzle.

This is the left side of what I did.

This is the right side. I put the puzzle piece boards on top of the puzzle before I realized I needed to take a photo. I was surprised at how much I got done today and I wasn't ...

Another Day In Olympia from Quilting My Way

Today I was out the door by 7:15 am. Stopped at McD's to get breakfast. I knew mom wouldn't have breakfast by the time I got there. We had to be in Olympia by 9 am. So, we headed out at 8 am. Not my day. I was not impressed with her doctor. He did not interduce himself to me, so he had no clue the whole time I was there, who I was. He told mom he wanted her to go to a gastrologist for her hiatal (sp) hurnea (sp). I think he's crazy but ...

Another Waiting Day....In Olympia from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed to moms. We had to be in Olympia at St. Pete's hospital for her tests. It was a 1 pm appointment but they told her 12:30 pm. So, we were early. That is the worst place to try and find a parking lot. We went to the back of the hospital and parked in the garage. That meant we needed to walk around to the front of the hospital. Mom did pretty good but we did have to stop on the way to the ER room - which is the only entrance anyone can use ...

Brazilian Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I had a long list of stuff to do before getting to our meeting. Of course, I was stopped by the train on my way there. I was listening to my book while waiting. It was a good 20 min wait. At least I was enjoying my book, cause I wasn't enjoying waiting. Remember I'm one of those that isn't that patient. People call me patient, but they don't realize I hate crowds or waiting in line. Not my joy in life.

We had a good visit. There was 3 of us this time ...

QOV Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Because we have over 100 nominations to get quilts out, we are doing presentations every 2 weeks. I had to schedule more presentations till Aug. So, today was another presentation day. Since I didn't get photos, I'm not able to show who we honored.

I arrived around 11:30 am. Debbie was already there and we were working on getting everyone fixed. Mom and Kristi were not there, so Connie had to take over the presentation part. We honored 8 veterans today. I was hoping we could get 9 but 8 is good too. I'm approved for ...

Quick Trip To Olympia And Back from Quilting My Way

This morning Debbie came over so we could head to Olympia. We stopped and picked up Connie. Connie was going with to help Debbie decide on the quilt machine. We went to see Sharon as she had Bill's quilt machine up for sale. After checking it out and talking with Sharon, they decided not to get it. Partly because of all the wires for the camera and computerized system. Debbie isn't computer "savy" so I could see her having trouble with the machine. Plus I think Bill did some modifications that would be hard to fix. We came ...

Patrick's Birthday! from Quilting My Way

Today is Patrick's Birthday. I didn't get him anything. I should have made a cake but didn't do that either. Wasn't sure what he would want. I bought him some golf club covers a couple weeks ago and he got that early. I will do a cake or cupcakes tomorrow. In all honesty I forget it was today. I thought I had a couple days.

He went golfing today. I cleaned up a little this morning. Then I went to the computer and did my "homework" for the new QOV data base. I will know before ...
