Wilderness Trail Quilt 1
Driving cross-country with Toby the dog to settle in Georgia was the perfect thing to do between packing everything in Utah and unpacking here. I saw the beautiful landscape I often missed when traveling by plane. This trip reminded me of the quilts I designed for the Wilderness Trail collection by Blank Quilting. This collection features a 24-inch panel with animals found in the wild, canoes, camping, and fishing gear in colors that are perfect for ...
read moreThe comfort of basic black and white fabrics will never disappoint! Two colors on the opposite side of the spectrum, working together to create something universal and modern. I believe this is the way we feel about these colors because fashion always portrays this combination as high contrast, bold yet classic, and ideal to wear no matter what season it is. But as the quilting world continues to evolve, black and white prints are coming to all patchwork projects alike. This brings to one of my favorite collection releases today, Duality Fusion!

I love how this quilt turned out! I named it Vintage Kitchen because the palette reminded me of that fun era of soft pink, blue, aqua, and simple, unadorned lines on everything in the kitchen.

read moreOver the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience how fabrics, colors, and designs positively affected me. I always thought that my style will never change as I always gravitated towards earthy and neutral colors, but there is something about color that always caught my eye. Although neutral colors will always be nurturing, I later discovered that it’s the bright and cheerful colors that complete the mix between cozy and happiness. Sometimes we just need a boost of joy, and today is the day you can experience that with Jessica Swift’s latest collection, Flight Path!

I feel like anyone that ever began to sew, the origins started with their grandmother or mother showing them the basics. Since I was a little girl, my grandmother will always have me sit next to her and give me some thread, a needle, and a pile of socks to repair the holes on. As a little girl, I always saw this as a chore, but little did I know that I would love and appreciate this skill that she showed me. It’s made me explore what more I could do, and it even led me to purchase my ...

Need a quick refresher? Here’s a pic of a curtain rod connector. It’s tiny (like only about two inches long) and has a hinge in the center ...

Curtains and curtain rods are a great way to easily make big changes in a room. As makers, we can all relate to this, to think back to where we started off and how far we’ve come with our newfound skills. So, let’s take a moment and give yourself a pat on the back for everything you’ve accomplished!

Hello, fabric lovers!
I would like to start the day with one of my favorite sayings, “It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, what matters is how many times you get up!” We are all humans, going through this roller coaster we call life, and our goal is to try to make the most out of it. Today celebrates exactly that with Jessica Swift’s latest collection, Onward + Upward! One of my favorite things about Jessica as a designer is that her collections are so personal, relatable, and enlightening.
