2021 Ornaments from Alamosa Quilter

I didn't make ornaments the last couple years. Just too much other stuff going on. But I was determined to make some this year.

These are in progress but almost finished. When this photo was taken I needed to add a little embroidery to a couple of them but by now I'm just doing a running stitch around them to finish them off. I will hopefully have them all done soon and ready to be sent off.

Kicking off the holiday season. from QUilting By-You

It feels a little anti-climactic. I’m sure you are missing your usual family traditions this year as well. Although In recent years I have been spending more time online shopping rather than standing in Black Friday lines.

How are you supplementing your family traditions this year? We are encouraging the kids to be more involved in the planning part. They are working up plans for the outside Christmas lights this year so that should be interesting.

Tunic Dress for My Mom from Tea Rose Home

I sewed this tunic dress for my mom in Japan. I was supposed to go visit my family in Japan in April, but COVID happened... My trip had to be canceled and who knows when the next time will be when I get to go visit her. Christmas Gift from Daisychain Quilter

I designed this Christmas gift for a auntie. I try every year to make this relative a gift as I know she likes the personal touch.

I have an ever increasing fabric stash. My favourite fabrics, which happens to be most of my stash, is so precious I plan only to use them for special projects.

Another homemade Christmas from Quilt in Progress

I asked the mothers of my 7 grandchildren about Christmas, and got requests for doll clothes, pajama pants, and nightgowns. Of course!

First request was from the oldest granddaughter. She wanted Christmas pjs and a volleyball uniform for her 18″ doll. In searching online for what the uniform would look like, I noticed long sleeves and a tighter fit all around. Her school’s colors are red and black but I could not find a photo of the girls’ volleyball team online. I made the uniform out of 2 new-looking sports shirts I found at thrift stores.

Extra hour from Quilt in Progress

I used my extra hour today to get in a little sewing. I am done with the first round of treatments for the cancer, so no more steroid, and no more insomnia sewing. I have to be intentional about it now.
