What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

 This morning I didn't want to get up. Even though I was wide awake. I waited on Patrick and then got up. 

I worked on my exercises and then headed out for a walk. I got all my "Spice Cake" ingredients ready for when I came back. I was hoping Ron was out there but never did see him walking. Got my walking in and then got started on the cake. It's a Rum Cake. It was in the oven.

 Today I woke with a headache and went back to sleep. I didn't get up till 9:30 am. Even then I wasn't feeling good. 

I got to work on the laundry off and on. Mostly laid down on the couch. Very little playing games today. It just wasn't in the card. Patrick and I both took an hour or more nap. 

I did work on the next panel. I was able to add to the dress. I didn't get much done. 

After supper I came to check on the information my daughter in law did ...

 Patrick was out the door to golf and I was enjoying the time to myself. I pulled out the quilt that I need to applique stars on. I did get one done. It's not the prettiest but it's at the end of the boarder and it will probably be cut in half. I'm okay with that. 

Kathleen called me to say the embroidery at the fair isn't much, so would I be able to judge weaving and basketry. I told her I have made them and I could judge them. Plus she needed a judge to ...

This morning it was raining. I didn't go to moms because of the rain. It was supposed to pour! It was close. Patrick said it rained 2" by the time we were up. Then it rained another 2" during the day. It hasn't stopped raining. 

I enjoyed the day - doing very little. I watched TV with Patrick. We even watched a cartoon movie that was really good. "The Bad Guys" about a wolf, snake, whale, and two others. It was really cute!

I hate when my morning goes awry! I had trouble sleeping last night, and I think I know why, so I slept in rather late. And then I realized as I was making breakfast that I forgot to buy bananas for my oatmeal. Sigh................. Let's hope the weirdness stops NOW! I have too much to do in the day to waste time by not getting a good night's sleep. 

I have to say that the days are becoming very much the same. I got two more of the small quilts done. 

Community projects quilt - DONE

 This morning Patrick and I were up early and on our way to Olympia. Both of us needed blood tests done. So, we made a morning of it. Once we were done, we headed to our bowling partners place to pick up 2 dozen fresh eggs. Then we went to "Judy's" for breakfast. I had a cinnamon bread French toast while Patrick got my eggs and had some oatmeal. "Oats" actually. 

Came home and I worked on my genealogy. I was able to add another 150 names to Patrick's family. I have a ton of papers in the ...

 This morning Patrick was out the door early for golfing. I was surprised as it's been raining for 3 days now. Guess they had a break in the weather. 

When I got up, I decided I needed to clean the cat litter box. Since the litter is in the garage I wanted to figure out supper too. The freezer is in the garage as well. So, when I walked by my boxes of genealogy that needed to be organized, I couldn't help myself. First I decided on supper, and decided to wait to take it out of the ...

 This morning I was up and playing games. Then just before Patrick left for bowling, I pulled out my box of genealogy. I wanted to get it organized and easier for me to add the information I have. 

I sat on the floor and pulled out each folder to put in folders related to the ancestor name. I labeled folder by name - Wineland, Taylor, White, etc. That way it's easier to put the information where it belongs and to what family it belongs. I even worked on the White family as I was going.

 This morning I cut the backing for Debbie. She stopped by to pick it up and the quilt I picked up from the church yesterday. 

Then it was time to go into the computer room and clean out the room. We are getting ready for the floors to be redone, which means we have to clean everything up and put stuff in boxes. Then we have to move the furniture out of the rooms. We have the "blue room" all downstairs, and now the computer room has joined the boxes. I found a few things with my genealogy and need ...

 This morning I wasn't in any hurry to get up. The rain made it dark and enjoyable for sleeping. Guess that is one good thing about being retired - no hurry getting up. One of these days I may actually start getting up really early and enjoying it. Not so much now. 

I worked on a lot of stuff today. I was working on a few survey's and enjoyed it. I did a couple survey's yesterday and thought it would be fun to do more today. So, I did. The funny part about that was receiving a phone ...

 This morning I was up and playing games. Patrick went to get doughnuts this morning. I took my time getting ready. 

Then it was a cold day. So, really, really didn't feel like doing much. Play games and just relax. 

Once I did get moving, I started adding the BIRGE family information into Patrick's tree. Since it's not a direct line, I decided after putting about 100 names in, that I would call it good. I found a few more names to add with what I had. So, I had to write notes to myself to make ...

 This morning I was up early and playing on games. When Patrick got up, I got moving again. 

Patrick needed my help lifting some pots outside to put in the front yard. I got those moved and then decided I wanted to work on my beading. 

 This morning I was up and ready to go to our embroidery meeting. As it turned out, it was just Sandy and I. I would have liked to have seen more there, but they tend to have appointments on our meeting days lately. Hoping we can get this going once a week, so we can keep the group going. Otherwise, we may be stopping the group - which I hope we don't.

I worked on the Wild Orchards pattern. 

 This morning we were up and out of the hotel by 5 am. Dropped Patrick off and headed home. We were back home by 7 am. Katt and I picked up breakfast at McDonald's here in town. 

We then waited for calls from the hospital. The good news is that everything went well and he's doing good. Went as expected. 

Katt and I played games. Then I fixed supper. We didn't do the walking that we did yesterday. We actually walked 3.5 miles. Today we just stayed home.

 I was lucky to get about 4 hours sleep last night. My neck and shoulder are in major pain. I had Patrick put a hot and cold pack on it, but it's really not helping. I took a "tension" pill that isn't working either. So, I spent the day watching some shows that I had taped. Patrick went golfing. 

I haven't felt like doing anything all day. My shoulder is killing me. Doesn't like my moving around. AND it's my left side, so being left handed doesn't help.

Jim left to go back to Georgia early yesterday morning. After lunch, I went over to my mom’s to help her with a few things, and when we were finished we played some Scrabble. Our first game began with both of us having a seven letter word, always fun!

When I got back home I took a few pictures of the new iris colors in bloom, as well as our spirea which are now in full bloom. Aren’t they gorgeous? They smell fabulous!

 This morning I was playing a few games before getting moving. 

When I did get moving, Patrick wanted to go for a walk to the golf course. I joined him. We chatted along the way. It was a nice walk. I've started to walk with him when I can. Yesterday he went walking while I was at moms. 

I worked on my new computer after Patrick got it all set up for me. He's organized my files, and I like it. I didn't like have duplicate stuff. This way all my documents are on a file on ...

 Today we went up to Costco for shopping. I was looking at the computers they had. We had the list of what to look for from my son. I found 2 I liked. One was a brand I didn't know. The other was an HP that was cheaper. It had a little more than what was on the list. So, we decided to get it. This computer seems to be working okay right now. But it is time for another computer. We got up to the counter and gave the paper for the computer. They went to get it ...

This morning Faye and Debbie came over so I could get them set up on all the stuff I do for QOV. Faye will do the presentation stuff and Debbie will do the collection of veterans needing quilts. I gave her a lot of my stuff so that while I'm having to deal with Patrick, they can keep QOV going for us. I still have the backing and batting here, so I can cut those when needed.
