Once a month, our church hosts a gathering for Young Women/Mothers to socialize, study God's word and enjoy snacks. I've been helping out with the children during these times (seriously believing that I get the best end of the deal!); playing games and supervising outdoor play. I've been digging deep into the game closet at home for new(!) different and exciting ways to occupy their time and

Kathy hung a clothesline up high in my sewing room! Super excited to have some of my little quilts on display. I have two drape rods hung (one in bedroom and one in living room) and I change out the table topper size quilts by season on both of those. I also use seasonal table runners and table toppers, but I still have many small ...
The game is Marvel United. We've played it a few times. Each time we seem to pick the wrong heroes once or twice before we can manage to beat the big bad. On this occasion I think we failed twice and decided to change games.
We've had some diversions from our normal routines this week, the best kind, an overnight visit from these two. Since they're currently being home schooled we were able to take an active part in that and even added some enrichment activities as well! At break time we played a rip-roaring game of Sequence and took a field trip to a local park for some exercise, fresh air and sunshine; the weather

read moreWhat is a game vault? It is a thing that gamers want. Role playing gamers. Board gamers. Gamer geeks of many types. A fully built game table can cost thousands of dollars. And I don't mean just a couple thousand. Some tables can run more than $10,000.00. I don't have the budget, or burning desire for such a table. I do however have some minor skills and math ability. During my research into the subject, I came across a cheaper option that anyone can make with some hand tools. I got this great idea from The ...

Reading a lot still. I found this one annoying though I did want to know how it ended. In its defense, it is a YA. I do not plan to read book two!
Today's Quilt Camp session saw great great progress in the quilt block count! One of Lynnleigh's most frequently asked questions today was: "how many blocks do I have done now and how many more do I need?" She sewed up a storm and loved arranging her warm, freshly-pressed blocks on the design wall. I'm very proud of her can-do attitude! For the second day, we followed the same format as the day

Gudrun Erla did a video on December 15th for these Woven Heart ornaments, which remind me of Norway so I bought the supplies and had to make a few. This year only the kids and my Goddaughter will get one, next year maybe more folks. They are fun to make!

I put the twelve blocks for my kit on the design wall. There will be so much piecing of sashing and cornerstones, and so on for this one. Full update next Monday.

I am also really getting into solo gaming! I have been playing Tiny Epic Zombies almost everyday. I need to teach it to Kathy so we can play competitive or cooperatively, but so far I got my ten bucks out of this used game (which arrived ... read more
I've got a new spot for quilt beauty shots, the porch; it's perfect, I can set up the stand without dealing with wind, weather and other outdoor hazards. If you've ever tried to set up a quilt for outside photography you know that even the slightest breeze will turn your quilt into a giant sail! The location is perfect but the time of day wasn't-- I'll need to be careful in the future to make sure
