Good morning, my friends. It was a rare no-sewing day yesterday. We had some errands to run in town, including picking up our fifth wheel from the shop where repairs have been under way for months. Finally, the fifth wheel is back home where it belongs. The slides might be moving more smoothly than they did when it was new. As it turns out, some water damage had caused the floor under the heaviest of the slides to sag, and that was creating some drag on the whole unit as we brought it in and out. The bedroom slide had ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. I'd say it's a Red Letter Day, but Blue Denim Day fits better. I'm happy to say I found some jeans I could live with...or live in, depending on how you think about it. Several of you mentioned the Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda style jeans. I shopped at Kohl's (since that seems to be the only store that caters to women of my, um, maturity these days). They had racks and shelves of Amanda jeans. I was looking for a darker denim, figuring they haven't been pre-washed as much. (Isn't ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. Well, our big scary storm turned into a big nothing burger yesterday evening. We got some rain, but barely any wind, and no tornados nor monster hail. (I think our northern neighbors in Washington got the worst of it.) The sky grew dark around dinner time. Interestingly, I could see a rainbow, even though we'd only seen a few sprinkles of rain. You can see it in the lower half of the image below.

Good morning, my friends. There was just a hint of fog when we opened the curtains this morning. And, honestly, for all I complain about the squirrels, it still makes me smile when I look outside and see one or more of them surveying the landscape. No doubt he's looking around for some mischief to get into.

Good morning, my friends. Well, I made good on my threat to attend the grand opening of the new quilt shop near my home. It was a sunny morning, which made it nice. I stopped off at the quilt shop, and then walked across the parking lot to the grocery store to pick up a couple of items we'd forgotten the day before. It was all very uplifting and convenient.
So, let's talk about the quilt shop: Bobbins and Bits. First, I hadn't planned to be there when the doors opened. When I saw this image on ...

read moreGood morning my friends. Did you remember to spring forward? We have a clock that displays the time on our ceiling. When I opened my eyes this morning, I was surprised at how late I'd slept. And then I realized the clock had done the work of springing ahead. Actually, it was my usual getting up time, but the clock was already up and at 'em.
After finishing yesterday's post, I found myself in dire need of a nap. I'm not sure why I was so tired, but I'm chalking it up to a busy week ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. To quote Paul Simon, "something tells me it's all happening at the zoo." For sure everything that happened yesterday happened there. We had a beautiful day for it. I purchased tickets for timed entry the day before, and we were supposed to enter the zoo at 1:00 p.m. I wish I'd thought of it before I decided on that time because I realized later the baby elephant would only be open for viewing between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Not knowing what we'd encounter on our arrival ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. It started as an ordinary day...playing word games, checking email, perusing the news to see if the United States is at war with Europe yet. (Just kidding about that last part...sort of.) When I'd had my coffee, I asked Mike if he'd like breakfast first or if I should write my blog post first. He opted for breakfast. And everything was going along fine until I went to wash out the bowl emptied of pancake batter (pancakes on the griddle by then). When I turned the faucet on...nothing. Not a dribble ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. It's another sunny day here at the Three Cats Ranch. It's starting to feel like spring. Today, I'll probably get out and do a little weeding. The annoying hairy bittercress is popping up everywhere, and I want to pull it up before it goes to seed. But I'm getting ahead of myself already. Let's just back up to the pretty day we had here yesterday.
Of course, no morning is complete without a little slow-stitching. As expected, I finished March's block for A Year in the Garden. With March arriving ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. I got lucky with the weather for yesterday's outing again. Despite having entered the "Big Dark" season, it was a dry and sunny day. Sunglasses were required. That's three for three in a single week. This being our 46th year in the Pacific Northwest, I'm not naive enough to think this will continue, but I certainly appreciate it when it happens.
The spa where I get my pedicures is a new building. There's still construction going on all around it, but the landscaping at the spa is beautiful. I was surprised to ...
