Are you like that, too? Today, I’ll give you some ideas for those last minute needs with easy solutions to make Christmas more relaxed. Most of these are fun things that I enjoy like baking cookies, making cards and visiting with friends. read moreAre you ready for the holiday? I am done with all I intend to do. The decorating is done, cookies baked, cards mailed, gifts bought and wrapped. The veranda got a wreath, but I never got to the arrangements I thought I’d do. No one comes up here so I just wasn’t motivated. I have our holiday meal planned, and most everything is in the pantry, just a quick stop later in the week for the perishables. In the sewing room, I am finishing the Christmas panel quilt this week. Just in case you still have a few ...

read moreI’ve been doing autumn theme quilts since my early days of quilting. The second quilt I ever did was a huge, oversized king with tossed leaves on a beige background. One of the three borders has uneven numbers of flying geese on each side. It was only the second quilt I had entered into competition and I won my first ribbon with it. I called it Autumn Breeze.
It is quilted with a swirly design pantograph (by someone else) that gives the feeling of wind. It won an honorable mention for design. And with that, I was hooked on ...

read moreLaunching a new pattern is one of my favorite things. While it has been tough to manage all the deadlines during this global upheaval, making progress, if even on the little things, feels like a big thing. Decorating in the fall is my favorite time, I just love these colors. This year I got out the Autumn inspired projects, and used them to decorate. Did you know that all the patterns I do for the Autumn Jubilee events remain free on my blog forever? I’ll show you a few of those in a moment. First, though, since the color outside this year is a bit dull, I put my Scrap Dance Two Step quilt on the bench with a little pumpkin as a welcome. I didn’t leave it there for long as I didn’t ...
