Spring is well on the way, and the garden has come alive with daffodils. I have several spots where I planted groups of daffodils, with different varieties in each place. Some are along the driveway and in the island on the circle in front of our home. These came up this past week and bloomed. The lovely yellow petals with the orange centers are so cheerful, like a ray of sunshine in an otherwise brown landscape.

The groundhog predicted an early spring for this year, and the flowers seem to agree.  All around our place the crocuses are popping up and showing their happy faces.  I just love this one, with the variegated purple petals and the intense color stamens.

In the garden this month, there has been an interesting contrast of dull days and bright color, sunny mornings and then snow followed by days of rain.  Just the day before our QOV sew day, it snowed.  As I watched the snow fall, it seemed that every bird in the neighborhood needed a bit of extra fuel to deal with the cold.
