A very interesting thing happened in 2023, I started crocheting again. It wasn’t even my idea. My daughter wanted me to make a baby blanket for my granddaughter. Oh, and I find it odd that they now refer to afghans as blankets. When did that happen and why did they ever call them afghans anyway?
Well, let me get back on track here. My daughter saw this daisy baby blanket on Pinterest and asked me to make it. I hesitated since I hadn’t crocheted since I started quilting 25 years earlier. But I do usually give in to ...

Good Morning Quilters!
Good Morning Quilters!
Not much quilting going on here this week. It’s been perfect weather in Michigan all week, and I’ve planted mums, bought a big pumpkin for the front porch, and canned some more tomatoes. Fall has overtaken me, and I love it! We live about a mile from an orchard that features homemade pumpkin spice donuts in the fall, and I may have overindulged on them too. It’s all good!
The only crafty things I have to show you are some pink sparkly yarn princess crowns I am making for four little girls that are ...

Picture of the start of it: Blog post here I found the matching yarn skein, “Soft White” to finish the project and took it with us on the drive to the wedding last week. I worked on it all the way to Delaware and all the way back to Michigan! Here is the

It will be donated soon to a Grand Rapids non-profit organization. I found out that JoAnn’s Fabrics has the “Warm White” Red Heart yarn that I need to finish the baby afghan that I started for a future great-grandchild. I will

This past week was small progress on several fronts, so I thought I’d post today an inventory of where I am on the current UFOs.When our daughter came to visit, she brought a baby blanket project to finish while here, and donate to a charity. We discovered it needed tweaking. She followed the pattern on how many chain stitches to start with, and it made the blanket 36”

When and how did you first start knitting?
Almost 20 years ago, I had a Lucy moment and convinced my best friend Becca to go a knitting class. The class was a disaster. I don’t think we ever got past the cast on row. Looking back, it was quite hilarious, but at the time I was so frustrated!!! After that we stuck to books from the library and local yarn shops for tips and tricks.
What advice would you give to someone who just started knitting?
Be Patient and Persistent. Knitting is ...
Spring is here and summer is on its way and with them comes beautiful, warm weather! It’s getting harder and harder to want to spend your days completely indoors when you could be out soaking up the sun.
With hand work, you’re never confined to any specific space – the world is yours for the taking (and making!). Get outside and create to your heart’s content!

Mikey of The Crochet Crowd hosted a crochet-along in 2014. It was great fun and I was pleasantly surprised that it was a crochet monster.

I played for awhile. Then Patrick wanted to go to DeGautie's (sp) for flower pots. So, we took a trip out that direction. We came back with 5 hanging pots. They were really pretty. Came home and Patrick worked on getting them set up on the deck. It looks great out on the deck. He put the watering system going.
While Patrick was doing that, I was beading.
Can you tell I lived near Washington State University??! The WooHoo! came from there.
Today we got moving. I put in some laundry that I just realized I forgot about. So, I need to move it to the dryer here when I get done.
I went and worked on my beading. Got a row in when we decided to head out to moms and drop off some newspapers (2 weeks worth), and a few other things. She had said yesterday she wanted to work on a puzzle, so I went down and got 2 puzzles for her.
We went to ...

read moreThis morning I was getting ready for our meeting day. I had to get my floss box and take it with me to Brazilian Embroidery. I wanted to have it to figure out what colors I wanted to do for the "next" project. In other words, I was hoping to start another project after I finished my Roses in the Winter piece.
I got there around 10:15 am. Then we sat and talked about what classes we wanted to take for Seminar. I was happy to see Sandy wanted to take the same classes I did. I got all ...
