Another Handful of Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I have another handful of quilts to share today.
Almost all of these quilt tops were donated by one of you.
I appreciate these lovely tops so much!

This lovely pinwheel quilt top was sent in by Nann.

Elizabeth sent in this fun shoe and handbag print that looked fabulous with this top.  I did have to add a bit of red to make it large enough.

I think this quilt measures about 60 x 70".

Hoq cute is this colorful butterfly quilt top sent in by Mina.  The turquoise background was perfect for all those pink and purple butterflies ...

Red White and Blue from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I have been pulling out some of the Churn Dash blocks and making some quilts for deliveries in August and September.  These are the quilts for Veterans.

Churn Dash quilt #10 is this fun row quilt.  Local quilter Kelly finished this ne up for me.

Her quilting really shows up on the back - which was donated by Karen.

This quilt measures 60 x 66".

I put together this patchwork quilt made from some of the scraps from previous Veteran quilts.  I just cut 6" squares out of whatever I could.

Each square got a spiral quilted on it. The lovely ...

Some Two Step Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

The receipt of Two-Step blocks has slowed.  We have actually done a pretty good job of keeping up with them.  I think many of them are just waiting for me to quilt them up.

Here are a few that were completed this week.

Here is Two Step Quilt #10.  I admit these all look very much the same from a distance.  But up close, you can see the details that make them unique.

On the back is another beautiful autumn leaf print sent in by Stephanie.

This quilt measures 51 x 68".

On Quilt #11, I added in a piece ...

Sue's Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Today's quilts were all donated by Sue.  She has a friend who just happens to have kids who live here in Eugene so her quilts hitch a ride and get delivered right to my living room.  It sure saves her a lot of freight charges and she is able to send completed quilts.  All I have to do is attached a label.

This one is so bright and happy.  I put it in the teen pile.  I have always loved this pattern - it is a great one for jelly rolls.  Sorry, I don't know that name of it ...

Back to Happy Block Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

There are still a number of Happy Blocks to assemble into quilts so I spent some time one afternoon to make some quilt tops from them.

First up is this cute infant or toddler quilt made from baby-ish prints.

This one measures 40 x 40".

I had this adorable backing that fit the quilt nicely.  It has a very fun vintage feel.

This is Happy Quilt #79.

Quilt #80 is this cute cowboy/cowgirl themed quilt.

Wendy sent in this adorable cowboy boot print.  This quilt is also 40" square.

For Quilt #81, I used some precut squares I received ...

Oh Scrap! : Quick Finish from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Last Sunday, I shared my process for starting a new scrappy strip quilt out of some leftover fabrics.

Today, I am ready to share the finished quilt!

I am really pleased with how it turned out.  I hope that it finds its way to some young teen.

This quilt measures about 55 x 70.

There are some great inspirational saying on some of the fabrics.

I used this fabulous striped fabric that Nann sent me long ago.  I love this fabric so I have been holding onto it until the perfect quilt came along.  I think I still have enough ...

Lots of Two Step Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I thought I only had four finished Two Step quilts to share today but I was surprised by five.

These quilts go together so quickly!

I will admit that most of these quilts made with these blocks all look the same.  I even find it hard to differentiate them and I get to see them up close.  So I was really pleased that I received some fall-themed panel pieces to make some of the quilts more unique.

This lovely one is Two Step quilt #5.  The panel was sent in by Stephanie.  The blocks used in this quilt all have ...

Some Two Step Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I have been receiving lots of Two Step blocks in the post so I have been busy making quilts from them.

Here are a few...

This one was sent as a quilt top by Holly.  There are so many pretty sunflower prints in this one.

Holly also sent some nice backing fabrics in her package.  Including this pretty pumpkin colored one.  I love it on the back of her quilt.

If you are keeping track, this is Two Step quilt #2 and measures 46 x 64".

Lots of the blocks I receive have pretty leaf prints in the 5" square ...

Finally, a lot to Share from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Lots of quilts to share today.  Some of these tops are made by me but many have been donated by generous hearts.

First up is this cozy all flannel quilt.  I received a bunch of flannel bits, so I cut a bunch of it up into 6" squares.  Janet then decided on a pleasing layout for them.

Here is the back.  I don't have a huge stash of flannel fabric but I did have two that had an outdoor theme.  Neither were big enough but I made them work.  Local quilter Laura quilted this one up and sewed on ...

More Happy Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I am still working through blocks I received for the Happy Block drive.  Soon it will be time to schedule another drive for kids.

I really want to get these done - they are stacked all over the place!

This is Happy Block quilt #76.  It has castles, princesses, knights, dragons and unicorns.  I think there might even be a mermaid or two.  The little girl in me loves this one.

On the back is Tinkerbell.

This quilt measures 48" square.

Quilt #77 is all about monkeys!

I knew I was going to have to let go of a print I ...

Pam's Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Pam has been one of my longarm clients for about 15 years.  I think she was close to a beginner quilter when I started working with her.  I felt so much gratitude when she stopped by and brought me three quilt tops for Many Hands and Many Hearts.

She has a number of granddaughters who are wild for Tula.  So she has a lot of Tula scraps.  She made this fun card trick quilts.

Here is the back she also suppled.  She is set on using up as much of her fabric as she can.

This quilt measures about 48 ...

Two Step Quilt #1 from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Sorry, I am posting a finish a little late today.  My heat pump went out and the temperatures inside my house have been way too hot.  It is hard to work much but thankfully I am getting a new system on Tuesday.  Then I will be back on track!

I thought I would share the first quilt made using the Two Step blocks.  I didn't make this top - Cheryl sent it in already sewn up.  All of her blocks have the same pretty leaf print where the 5" square goes.

I used this pretty twig print on the back ...

Big and Little from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

It is always fun to see what is included in all the packages I receive.
I often get instantly inspired!

Jeanine sent in this lovely rail fence quilt top.  I love the pretty corals with those pretty aquas.
I sent it to local quilter Laura and she quilted in some fun twisty quilting.

I had this pretty pink fabric for the backing.  It really shows the quilting nicely.

This quilt measures about 48 x 56".

In the package with the quilt top, Jeanine included the leftovers.  I knew I had a piece of a solid aqua that was just the ...

Pretty Scrap Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I have been working really hard to work thru the queue of quilt tops I have waiting to be quilted.  I was so happy to be delivering 6 out to local longarm quilters over this week.

But I will soon need to redirect and start putting together the Two Step blocks that are starting to arrive.  I think I already have enough blocks for two or three quilts!

This lovely quilt top was made by Jean.  I think the pattern is called Stunning Stars.
I finished quilting it just in time to make this week's delivery to the hospital ...

Churn Dash Quilt #9 from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I finally finished up another quilt from our Veteran block drive. I still have a number of Churn Dash blocks and a few more tops ready to go.

This row quilt is Churn Dash Quilt #9.  truthfully, I have not been in a hurry to finish all these RWB quilts.  Right now, I only need to deliver 3-4 of these quilts about every five weeks. So the quilts made from the block drive should last almost all year. In the future, as we pick up more organizations to give them too, I will need many more made.  But right now ...

Lots of Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Finally, I had a chance to put together a post with all the recent finishes.
There is a little bit of everything in this post!

This Happy Zoo Animals quilt is the 75th quilt we made from the block drive.  This one has been out getting the binding sewn on by Chris.

I don't think this will be the last zoo animal quilt we see; I think there is a still a small stack of blocks.

I love, love, love this backing fabric that Helen sent in.

This quilt measures 48" x 54".

Next up is this lovely green ...

Two Step Block Drive from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I can't believe it is already time to announce the next block drive for Many Hands and Many Hearts.  I am nowhere near finished with the last blocks from our Veteran drive.  But I will talk more on that in another post.

This time we are working with fall/autumn colors.

Here is the block we will be making.  This block was made by Holly - I gave her a head start and this is the first block she created.

For each block you will need the following fabric cuts.

Qty 1     5" square in a fall fabric print (sunflower ...

Happy Happy Scrappy from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

A few more finishes for you today.

We are still chipping away at the quilts from the Happy Block drive.  This one is all about trains.
My friend Jeanne pieced it together and local quilter Cindy quilted it.

The fabric on the back is so darn cute and colorful.  This is the 73rd quilt from the block drive.
This quilt measures 40" square.

Happy Quilt #74 is all about frogs.  The big swirls were quilted by Laura.  She even sewed on the binding for this one too.

This cute froggy backing came from Karen.
This little quilt is 48" square ...

Donated Tops now Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Now that I have some help from some local longarm quilters, I am finally completing some of the quilt tops that were donated.

This amazing sampler was donated by Joni quite some time ago.  I did quilt this one - I wanted to see up close all the fun blocks she made. I think Joni makes a block from fabrics leftover from each quilt she makes - and then turns those into a quilt like this one.  I identified blocks that had fabrics from other tops she sent.

For the backing, I picked out this lovely floral sent in by Jean.

This ...

Churn Dash Quilts #6 thru #8 from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I don't know why this block drive seems to be taking its time to get going.  I have lots of blocks but other things seem to continually get in the way.

Quilt #6 is this lovely sashed layout of just large 12" blocks.  There wasn't enough of the red sashing material to sash around the outside.  I still like how it turned out.
I think all of these blocks and the red sashing material all came from Nann.

This quilt measures 54 x 68".

When the front blocks don't have a lot of patriotic fabrics in them ...
