clarissa centers from Making A Lather

you may remember I wrote this about my clarissa quilt.

I saw this quilt on sane, crazy, crumby blog and loved it. She loved it from Kathy quilts. And Kathy loved it from the Shelbourne museum. Quilting is a hobby that links us to the past and to the future, a gift that keeps on giving. Thank you to all the lovely quilters who ply their art. You have enriched my life. And my daughter is an amazing quilter, too.......

I am happy to say all 36 centers are done. And, I thought, I would put it away again for ...

clarissa quilt progress from Making A Lather

I rediscovered this project while cleaning up messes. I had a stack of related fabric scraps that I really liked, and, I started a year or so ago to make an old hourglass block quilt. I thought before I put it away in the ufo closet, I would just cut to make sure I would have enough and make 36 centers. sounded easy. the centers only have 4 hourglass blocks.

clarissa block from Making A Lather

I knew I needed to cut more qsts for another Clarissa quilt block. I like making them, but, they take a bit of time. Each hourglass is 2 1/2 unfinished. There are 36 hourglasses = 144 pieces. I do a little a time.

clarissa quilt block from Making A Lather

I saw these blocks first on https://saneandcrazy.blogspot.com/search?q=clarissa who had seen them on Kathy's blog. who saw it as an antique quilt. Each hourglass is 2 inches. I didn't plan on doing anything that intricate, but, I couldn't forget them. And then, I had to try one. My first one was a little wobbly. So I wanted to try for better. And I am getting better with each one. I just really like this block. It isn't on any of my lists, yet. I don't know if I will make ...

a little here and there from Making A Lather

I have made some progress on some of my projects.

I cut some more hsts for go fish leader/ender challenge from quiltville.

I made another block for the wedding ring or cross and crown blocks. I sorted through what I had cut and made sets. I should be able to grab a set and sew a block when time permits.

I realized I  hadn't looked at the shirt anvil blocks in a while. I sewed some hsts together in sets, so that, when I have the time, I can just sew the blocks.

And I found the one ...
