I rediscovered this project while cleaning up messes. I had a stack of related fabric scraps that I really liked, and, I started a year or so ago to make an old hourglass block quilt. I thought before I put it away in the ufo closet, I would just cut to make sure I would have enough and make 36 centers. sounded easy. the centers only have 4 hourglass blocks.
I knew I needed to cut more qsts for another Clarissa quilt block. I like making them, but, they take a bit of time. Each hourglass is 2 1/2 unfinished. There are 36 hourglasses = 144 pieces. I do a little a time.
I saw these blocks first on https://saneandcrazy.blogspot.com/search?q=clarissa who had seen them on Kathy's blog. who saw it as an antique quilt. Each hourglass is 2 inches. I didn't plan on doing anything that intricate, but, I couldn't forget them. And then, I had to try one. My first one was a little wobbly. So I wanted to try for better.
