I am still plugging away on the Chrismon path, I've hit a few potholes and endured some detours along the way but I'm persevering, holding steady and not veering off. After returning to the supply store a few weeks back to purchase some more kits to try, I've been dedicating whatever free time that I can carve out in the afternoons to work on these. read moreI managed to finish another block. This one was fairly simple and I didn’t have too many mistakes. I knew I wanted to put the stone print fabric to good use, even though I wish it had been smaller stones and more of an orangey color.
You can see the outlines where I’ve drawn with black marker. It helps me to see the shapes and the scale.
I used a white fabric for the sky, since this photo was taken on an overcast winter day. I found a leftover bit of sparkly white (angel costume, could you guess ...
read moreWe have been away up in Takapau in the Hawkes Bay celebrating our Caravan Club’s 600th Rally. Robin and I were Rally Captains for this rally, so were in charge of organising the activities. And of course we had to order a 600th Rally Cake to share with all the members.
Our first outing of the weekend was at the grand old Oruawharo Homestead on Friday morning when for High Tea. This was served in the beautiful Vincent’s Church, moved from Takapau township in 2012. Used as a wedding venue, birthdays, anniversaries and High Teas, this church has ...

With the stitch in the ditch completed around the pin wheel blocks, I then decided to do some serpentine stitching along the diagonal lines. Although there is no batting involved, I felt it was easier to use the walking foot, particularly as I had to stitch over areas where all the seams came together.

It’s been such fun ...
read moreThe last few days have been a bit of a mixed bag. Sadly on Friday we had a family funeral to attend as Robin’s cousin Steve had passed away. The day was wet and wild, and we drove up to Palmerston North to attend the church. Reflecting in the car that as the aunts and uncles have now all passed on, sadly the cousins are the older generation. Quite a sobering thought. With our part of the country being in “Level 2”, gatherings are capped at 100 people. Therefore, the family wanted to know who was likely to attend ...

We haven't had our own, called, pastor for a little over two years now. We've had an interim pastor and many dedicated, faithful supply pastors (one whom we shared with another congregation) over these many months; but not a pastor to call our own. This past
