Good morning, my friends. How's everyone doing? Things are pretty slow around here. We're doing our grocery shopping today, and I'm getting a pedicure tomorrow. The energy level is going to need to pick up some. I was all set to take a walk on the treadmill yesterday, but I was discouraged when the TV wouldn't play my latest Ken Burns documentary...The West. And, obviously, I can't walk on the treadmill if I can't watch television at the same time, so what's a person to do? Well, I vacuumed and dusted. I ...

Good morning, my friends, and Happy President's Day! We're celebrating the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln today. Here, in America, these used to be separate holidays. A while back, some genius got the idea to combine the two into a single national holiday, providing Americans with another three-day weekend. If that includes you, then enjoy your day off.

Good morning, my friends. It's a second Valentine's Day here. Mike and I have an evening out tonight to celebrate Friday's Valentine's Day. There's a special three-course meal at one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Portland. We wanted to avoid the Friday night holiday crowd, and so we waited until tonight for our celebratory dinner. I'm glad because I doubt we could have gotten out of our driveway on Friday. Tonight, it'll be smooth sailing...but no sailing...and no slipping, just because it's smooth. Sailing and slipping are to be ...

It was a miserable day of weather yesterday. Smitty could scarcely believe his eyes.

By noon yesterday, we had about three inches of accumulation.

The freezing rain didn't start until last night. There was just a little more snow accumulation. This is how it looked this morning.

Good morning, my friends. It's another bright and sunny day, but man...burrass cold. I'm writing fast this morning. It's a chilling thought (did you see what I did there?), but in a little bit, I need to leave to get my hair cut. Also, I need to stop off at the grocery store and pick up a few things we'll need to get us through the weekend. We'll do our regular grocery shopping next week.

I'll tell you about yesterday's sewing toward the end of this post, but first...the day has arrived to reveal the "Mosaic" project for The Endeavourers art quilt group. I'm happy to say the group will be continuing on for at least another year. "Mosaic" was the last prompt selected, but we have a whole new raft of prompts to start off our new art quilty year.

I keep reminding myself it will be on us before we know it. I've made reservations for the first several days of our trip, and the rest will remain open. For this trip, we'll play it a little looser than usual and keep the length of our stay in any given place more flexible. It's a little too ...

Good morning, my friends. It's a bright sunny day, but still very cold. Brrrr. If it weren't so cold out, it might be a nice day for a walk. But it is cold, so...nah. I'll stay inside where it's warm and do my walking on the treadmill. Also, there's plenty of walking between my sewing machine and my ironing board. Quilting: it's good for your health and stamina.
