It’s a hot weekend here to celebrate the 4th of July, but an anticipated short afternoon rain may cool us off for the fireworks tonight. It is expected to be in the mid-70s later. We haven’t decided if we will go downtown to the Music on Main concert before the show like we did last year, or watch what we can see from our veranda. The fireworks are farther away from our home, but we can see 7-8 different shows going at once across the valley. Pretty cool. My Sweet Babboo will be cooking some brats on the ...

I won't tell you what ridiculous o'clock I was awake this morning. Too many things running through my head, so I eventually just got up and did them! I sent a lot of e-mails and did some paperwork that needed to be done. Got an embroidery designed and ready to stitch out later this morning. I think I still owe 4 personal e-mails to people, so be patient a day or so longer - I'm almost out of the huge pile!
Yesterday was an interesting day. I was on Zoom from 9:30 - 5:30. Now how did ...
read moreThere's no difference in the internet situation. So I'll be calling again today. I wasn't on any Zoom calls yesterday, but I was on my computer and working away, and all of a sudden - POOF! No internet. We only know when it goes down if we're on the internet or DH is watching TV, so it probably happened more often than we actually noticed. It's just not the internet, but the TV as well and when the TV goes down, well, that's not a good thing in our house. Someone is already a little ...
read moreI spent the majority of the day just sewing, and it was glorious! I did sew some of the homework stuff that needed to be done. I'll share that with you another day. I need to get some more writing done today to get the homework to the group. I did catch up on some other projects that needed to be done.
Best of all, I spent it with two friends, and we had a fabulous time just chatting and sewing. Here's the thing - we ALL live alone - right? And did I not hear that it's OK ...

When anything gets done - it's time for a celebration! I'm slowly working myself out of the mountain of deadlines that I let accumulate. It's not so much the quantity, it's the lack of time management! I'll survive through it, but I'll be glad when this coming week is over.
Yesterday we had our two classes for the ongoing classes at The Hobby Horse. Of course, it was held via Zoom so no travel was required. I'm not sure how I would work in travel time at the moment. There's no time for ...
read moreI love staying at home! I'm getting so much done, and I'm so motivated these days. I think the motivation is coming from seeing the others on the Zoom calls. I can see what they are working on, and while I'd love to do some of the stuff that they are making, my conscious won't let me until I get some more of my own stuff done!
Of course, I have deadlines to work with, so that's a motivator as well. But the bottom line, I'm making significant progress, and while Studio B still ...
I'm a pretty upbeat person, and it takes a lot to drag me down. Even with the pandemic, I've had no issues until yesterday.
I don't know what hit me, but it was one of those days. I heard of two people whose fathers had passed away recently—another person whose mother is in palliative care and father not well. Someone's dog died, and another person is dealing with an elderly dog, and "that" question is looming. To top it off, I have a paperwork issue that just doesn't seem to go away. I'm ...
The beauty of doing the Zoom presentations is that I can usually get a picture from everyone, and they are edited for the class, so obviously, they are edited for posting after the class.
One of the quilts we're working on at The Hobby Horse is Celebration by Quilted Moments (Marilyn Foreman). It's a block of the month pattern, but I wasn't that thrilled with it. Let me rephrase that - I like the quilt, but the coloring on the cover is not my favorite.

Yes - it was Canada Day yesterday, and it was a great day (well, any day is a great day) to be a Canadian. My only beef and it's a little one. Can the neighbors not coordinate the darn fireworks? One group would stop, and then someone else would start their display. It went on for over an hour! But if that is the worse of my concerns, then life is pretty darn good! OH -- we more than made up for it as Murphy barked like mad at 6:50 AM this morning. Oopsy!!!!
I should mention one thing about ...
I wish that we were having a celebration. No - not a birthday or wedding or anything like that. Just a simple celebration that I got everything completed. I'm still working like mad, but will it all get done on time? Only time will tell. Let's just say that I learned a valuable lesson. While it's good to make goals - you better make sure that you work on them bit by bit instead of trying to cram everything in one day!
Somehow, I don't think I'll ever learn that lesson, and besides - now it's become ...
Oh my gosh - yesterday was such a beautiful day. I got back from the walk with the girls and we sat out on the deck with NO jacket on to enjoy my tea. I was sitting in the direct sunlight so it was warm and it was glorious.
I spent a good part of the afternoon out there as well. I had lunch outside, then retired to the gazebo with my book. I'm sure I had a wee snooze or two and that's OK. We're lucky the way our yard is positioned as we get sun in ...
Thank goodness, I'm not a rigid planner. I have loads to do and as much as I'd like to get loads done in a day - it doesn't always work out that way and for a variety of reasons. I've loads sitting on the work tables in Studio B and nothing is holding me back other than time.
But I had a dentist appointment yesterday. I walked down - it's a fifteen-minute walk. And even in the snow, it was an awesome way to start the day. So when both the dentist and the hygienist asked me ...
