This project file was started with a collection of blocks which needed some attention, and the block collection has grown and is now appearing in some quilt designs.
Flowers are often seen dancing in the wind, but in some of these blocks the flowers seem to be following more formal dance routines.

Watching the local pollinators compete, you would be forgiven for thinking that flowers are scarce in Arkaroola right now. Which, I think you probably get the idea: they are not. read moreArt and craft hobbies are something we do because we enjoy them. Which means that we tend to create things right up until we can’t anymore. What this means is that our loved ones are often left with not only beautiful creations made with our hands, but with half completed creations as well. That happened to Melanie. She came into possession of some beautiful butterfly appliqued blocks that someone in her family made. With the help of a grandmother, she put the top together but asked us to finish the quilt for her.

read moreIt's been a beautiful weekend, lots of warm sunshine. Hard to believe the forecast tomorrow is for cold with snow showers. We took advantage of the good weather to pay the Scientist in Training a visit. So my 15 minutes of stitching the last few days has been of the hand variety, but that still counts.
Work has been a bit of a zoo, so I've worked late a few nights the last week. It was a struggle a couple of nights to make the climb to the sewing room, but it happened.
