Bubbles 15, 16 from Virtual Quilter

This project file could be a great start to designing some fun quilts for children, and those grown ups who are young at heart.

I wonder if children are still allowed to blow bubbles!

Bubbles 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

Lots of circles, but would be fun!

Perhaps some of the bubbles could be much bigger than they are here.

Just a thought … perhaps I could print blocks onto fabric, and then just piece them together … and quilt!

Bubbles 11, 12 from Virtual Quilter

I wonder how many bubbles it would take to make a queen size quilt.

I haven’t counted the number of assorted size circles of fabric it takes for any of the blocks in this project file, but it would feel like millions … make that billions … if you had to cut them out by hand and then turn the blocks around and around to get each one stitched down!

Looks like some of the bubbles have formed their own system, copying the solar system perhaps!

Mmmm!

What if the lines joining the bubbles were eliminated, and the bubbles were held ...

Bubbles 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

I am thinking that it would be fun to blow some bubbles … and I am much more seriously thinking that I will make a bubbly quilt.

Thank goodness I have a Scan’N’Cut to cut the circles for me, so until I get to stitching all those circles to the background I won’t be going round in circles for days on end!

Then I will get giddy, but perhaps some champagne will help!

Bubbles 6, 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

I wondered what I could do if I was ever silly enough to accumulate a large box of small, circular scraps, so started playing with the idea in Electric Quilt.

I started just scattering them around, then thought I could follow lines … like the lines of Double Wedding Ring.

Looks good to me!

I suspect that the many variations possible with String of Beads. I must remember that when we have a rainy day, and no shopping to do, no appointments to go to, or even visits to family and friends which cannot be put off until the weather is ...
